Oklahoma teacher protest

Owl mentioned it earlier, I think the average teacher salary is $74K in SF. They are having huge problems keeping and hiring teachers because of the cost of living here. Forget trying to buy a place, most can't afford to rent here. So many commute an hour or more each direction. Far from ideal.

As you mentioned people can buy homes (in certain areas of the country) with a $40K salary. Desh just doesn't understand pricing, cost of living etc. throughout the country and how it varies.

I gave facts

you gave mouth pooping

MOST of our American schools are in highly populated areas

dudes the reality is not what you claim

It will only cost you about $49,114 a year to raise a family in Morristown, Tennessee, but if you move to Washington, DC, that expense more that doubles, to $106,493.

That's according to the Economic Policy Institute's 2015 Family Budget Calculator, which measures the annual cost of necessities for a family to live a secure yet modest lifestyle by estimating the costs of housing, food, child care, transportation, healthcare, other necessities, and taxes.
(Read the EPI's full methodology for the budget calculator here.)
The EPI gathered data in 618 metro areas throughout the US for several different family types. Here, we've highlighted the cost of living for a four-person family (two adults, two children) in 20 major US cities.
If you're looking to start a family in an urban area, consider the annual and monthly cost of necessities, and remember, these numbers do not include savings or discretionary spending:

there is a list of cities and their cost

LOOK AT IT

49K is the low guys

FACTS

From the WSJ article I posted on why states are cashed strapped:

""The resulting revenue squeeze is making it harder for governments to pay for core services such as education, infrastructure, police and fire protection.""

Cities and states aren't in a position to give teachers big raises. They struggle to pay what they already owe.

FACTS

Your statement is odd considering in 2015, women in households making less than $10,000 annually had the highest birth rate, while women in households making more than $200,000 had the lowest.
Liar.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/241530/birth-rate-by-family-income-in-the-us/
this is what I said
Having an unimpoverished life means being able to AFFORD having kids

if you dont make enough money to consider being able to have a child that is impoverished

so masters to teach are seen as lightweight to you ?

They're not anywhere near the top in terms of intelligence required to get one. Physics masters, engineering masters, special ed teaching masters... which ones require high intelligence and which just require putting in the time?

Governments hire teachers and governments shouldn't be run like a business right? Isn't that the argument we often hear?

And I'm never argued against the fact that there is tremendous beaucratic waste in education so money doesn't reach the classroom.
LOL I think we're on the same page here and you're trying very hard not to agree with me. LOL

dear fucking idiots

kids must get educated

taking courses that make you a teacher is NOT A THING TO BE STARVED FOR

hmmm its seems the right has stopped using the stupid meme "throwing money at the problem"..

GOOD

lets pay teachers and fund schools in a manner sufficient to make our schools function at a higher level
