I cannot recall the lunatics name, but he was a reccomended read by apple years ago on aol's abortion board. The author supported killing children up 'til, I believe, the age of 5 if they were defective or became defective.

Unborn children? That's like saying undead corpse. There are no such things. Just as there is no corpse until one has died there is no child until one is born.

As for suffering it involves far more than a handful. The vast majority of unwanted children suffer, be it from simple neglect to outright abuse.

I suggest you concern yourself with the children already in the world as they are dying every day in foreign countries from starvation and disease. To insist more be brought into the world while those already here are suffering and dying is vile and perverted.

Exactly. Anyone who is a parent knows the time and effort involved in raising children. To force or encourage someone in poverty or a substance abuser to bear a child is nothing short of contributing to child abuse.

The state of Oklohoma wanted to require the doctors to rape pregnant women against their will using a vaginal probe. Everyone in the legislature who voted for this should be arrested for attempted rape.

I guess he's never met anyone that had an "unwanted" or "unplanned" child and never abused or neglected it.

Apple's position really is not logically consistent.

But life doesn't begin at conception. It began, in an unbroken chain, 4 billion years ago.

I will announce my opposition to abortion when you announce your support for keeping anencephaletic babies hooked up to life support until they die of natural causes.

But that's the whole point. We have the technology to detect anencephaly early in a pregnancy and there is no reason whatsoever to continue such a pregnancy and bring a child into the world.

What possible justification could anyone have to subject a human being to that?

You're not really subjecting it to anything. It doesn't have a brain; it cannot understand pain. That's my position on abortion. I reject a speciesest abortion position or a spiritualist one.

An embryo is simply not capable of appreciating the fact that it is alive. It's no more morally wrong to terminate an embryo than it is to unhook an anencephatelitic baby from life support.
