You can't show me anything like this for CNN or MSNBC. Here's a CLEAR example of Fox taking a GOP talking point from the morning speeches from house GOP members and putting it in their NEWS cast (not opinion)

CNN and MSNBC don't do anything even close to this. There are a million examples just like this. Fox's bias is a difference in kind, not quantity or affiliation. MSNBC has liberal slant to most of their opinion shows. But they also have Scarbarogh on for THREE HOURS in the morning, and he calls himself the most conservative man in America. He was even a Republican congressman.

Come on, you cant be serious. Yes Fox is a mouthpiece of the Republicans, but this is a shoddy, shoddy piece to try to exemplify it.

You're going to hang your hat on this as an investigative journalist? If a politician says something, does that automatically mean that the media are not to say it independently?

I'm sure we could find a million examples of this all over the place.

Maybe one day some politician said "Money well spent", and then some journalist said the same thing, or about a million other examples.

But "where are the jobs"? That's a valid question, and you could very, very easily find bigger dead herrings from fox than this.

If you're trying to win a pulitzer, be prepared for disappointment.

Wow...

I found myself wanting to start a thread backing Onceler. Then I was about to check myself but in this instance Onceler actually deserves backing because he kept it real and told it how it was. Now I must admit I don't watch MSNBC, CNN or FOXNEWS so for the most part what I know of the sites is from other partisan sites trying to throw down. But I've seen enough in the past from those channels to know anyone claiming there's a difference between Fox and MSNBC is taking a very partisan position.

Fox has liberal commentators, who are never mentioned by the left. How many of the others have conservative commentators. NONE!! This thread is a joke.

But Olberman is neither an apologist or a propagandist for either political party. How do you equate his scathing criticism of the far right wing extremist, which are predominately correct, as Fox like propaganda? That's a major failure in logic. When has Olberman advocated a specific agenda for a specific party? Olberman was just the first and most vocal to point out that the far right neocons and their boot lickers were wrong on so many issues and policies. This is what journalist are supposed to do. Not be propaganda mouth piece pawns as those work for Fox news are.

I bet you can't even name one? There's only one nationally prominent "so called" liberal commentator on Fox News and I bet you a cup o joe at Star Bucks you can't even name who that person is.

Does that make Fox "fair & balanced" in your opinion?

The others have their token conservative commentators, btw - Scarborough, Gergen, Buchanan; even Mike Savage worked for MSNBC for awhile.

The libbies on Fox are a dying breed. Their opinion shows are hosted by some of the most extreme righties - Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, etc. But it's a moot point; it's the slant of the news...the stories they choose, and the way they are presented.

Fox is anything but "fair & balanced"...

The primary difference that is self evident to me, is that MSNBC is a business, and all about profit. Fox is about ideology, and N arm of the republican party.

MSNBC put liberal hosts on their evening shows because they make more money than their previous Con hosts. MSNBC tried to have Fucker Carlson, Joe Scarborough and Michael Savage. It wasn't a good business model for them. It's not about ideology. It's about $$$$.

And as you say, MSNBC does have Cons dominating their morning lineup. And for christ sake, NBC's owner, GE is one of the world's biggest defense contractors and corporate entities. You're never going to see NBC news promoting a liberal agenda in any sustained way like labor rights, unionization, or any sustained criticism of NAFTA and bullshit neoliberal trade policies.

Fox lost money for years, before they became profitable. But Fox was on a mission to push an ideology. When has Fox ever had a high profile political comentary show hosted solo by a liberal? Never. Fox stuck with the Con business model for years, losing money hand over fist, and never wavered from that model. Because they are an ideological network, and arm of the RNC, and their intent first and foremost was to create a viable conservative echo machine.
