He hasn't violated the Constitution, Walter and he won't be convicted.All that is needed to impeach is 50%+1 of the House. Every last Democrat would vote for impeachment today, so that is 49.7%. So if a few Republicans vote for impeachment, or just decide not to show up for the vote at all... That is impeachment right there. Many Republicans are uncomfortable about trump's flagrant violation of the Constitution, so it is possible. Not to mention that Congresspeople leave their jobs from time to time, so we could expect some shifting.
And then two years from now, there will be a vote. Republicans will lose seats. And that is from the slimmest majority in over a hundred years. That makes an impeachment almost certain at that point.
Conviction would be far more difficult. Part of the reason to impeach is to get Republicans on record supporting trump's violations of the Constitution.
