but here it is virtually a sure thing. in fact of all the forums I have been part of, there is only one whom I would say had a worse record of hijacking threads, and that was a highly conservative partisan forum that if you weren't a Bush lover, then get out.
In almost all conversations it is virtually a sure thing. Had this been a serious thread I long ago would have mentioned that it was far off target and reiterated the original post. It was not, it was a thread about a teacher who mumbled something about 7000 years old when speaking of a dinosaur bone.
I do notice that you aren't talking about dinosaur bones in this thread at this moment. Does this mean that you are part of the problem? If you think the thread should stick on topic, then by all means only post on topic.
If you want to suggest changes to the site, there is a suggestion section. You can self-moderate, keep your posts on target, be as strict as you want, and make sure you only post in marked areas with specific guidelines. Nobody will object if you do this. You can behave on the site exactly as you expect others to. That way, you will cease to be part of the problem and will be instead a shining example of fundamental forum operation.
Or you can post off-topic, as you have done here, and we'll answer anyway.
You are the only person you can control both in your life and on this board. You can act exactly as you expect others to, as you promote, and as you clearly believe.
Anyway, I will point out to you a rule that is in the rules area, and has been since you have been a member.
15. Any issues with the Moderation of the board must be taken up in PM with the jpp.com staff.
Since you have consistently broken one of the few rules of the board, do you feel I should do something about it? How strict should I be?
To tell the truth the only reason I put that rule in there was for other staff members, if you have a problem with them and need to talk about it the best place for it is in PM. However, I have kept limited staff because moderation of the board was meant to be light and I mean to keep it that way.
I prefer to give warnings, speak kindly, explain, then act. Please, if you have any more issues with how the board is moderated, instead of posting off-topic, against your own clear personal bias against it, send me a PM. We can have a nice conversation about it and thus leave the board clear for more on topic posts.
If you have suggestions about the function of the board, by all means put it in the suggestion area. You will see that I have taken and implemented many suggestions from the board's members, and I will take your suggestions seriously as well. But the moderation of the board should be taken up in private, as the rules state.
If you have an issue with a particular member's post, there is a "report post" button at the top of each post, please use it. It sends me a nice message telling me your complaint with the content of the post and your explanation of why you think it has gone too far.
Thank you,
Damocles
