One thing is for sure....

I shouldn't say the US is literally indivisible--one should hope for the sake of freedom that it is and always has been, if push really comes to shove. That's a good kind of country to be. I just don't think another civil war is likely in my lifetime, and I hope it never comes to that, since it would be pretty messy. I would think most of us feel that way.

there is a lot of talk, but not enough people who will do more than talk

i did not have much use for shrub (bush II) and he did a lot of damage to the nation, but the nation survived his administration and i expect that the nation will survive obama's administration also (regardless of how his opponents feel)

however, it is time for the repugs in the house to start looking at compromises rather than obstruction or they may lose in their gerrymandered districts during the next election

congress has a nation to run and they need to get on with it rather than keep saying no

each year there are fewer angry white men (and some of their wives) - the repugs need to expand their base and face the fact that their traditional base is shrinking and start looking elsewhere for new repugs

oh well

America is no longer a country indivisible any more.

it has not been indivisible for years

however, the minority base of the dims continues to grow as reflected by the last election

immigration reform is a priority for the dims and if the repugs continue to oppose it they will lose more seats in the house and senate and may lose the next presidential election

Would you possibly be able to explain what this "immigration reform", that the Dems want; because I keep hearing the buzz words, but haven't found anything of substance?
