They started the oxycontin crisis in this country and made billions and billions of dollar from it. And they blame people with chronic pain for becoming addicts, not their drug. They say the users have an "addictive personality" even though millions of people took oxy for pain, without a thought that they'd become dependent on it. It sounds like you read Empire of Pain. This is one of those books that made me furious, and I'm having a hard time shaking it off. The sordid Sacklers are some of the worst people I've ever heard about.
