One year ago today, a rescue org I work with raced to save a mangled and dying puppy.

Congrats, but as a friendly word of caution, you'd be better served by uploading the picture onto imgur. It erases EXIF data, and gives us a bigger picture to see.

the 'report' from the original owner was that the dog next door got hold of his leg through the fence and pulled it off. has never been proven though.

pounds aren't good, right?

I have been thinking of getting a dog, and I can't remember which place is the good place to get them. I know one place abuses them or something but I forget which one O_o

grind I ALWAYS get my dogs at kill shelters.

look for the right breed for you on line and then get it out of a shelter.

All my dogs ( even the ones that had previously been abused) were wonderful.

and abused dog will love you all the more for the kind treatment.

I know a lady who found her pit girl in the street.

she saw in in the gutter and could tell it was hurting.

She stopped and tried to find its owner and when she came back to where the dog was a man was KICKING it.

she drove up and opened her car door and the dog jumped in.

It is the sweetest pit in the world

Don't get one unless you can give it the time it needs.

pick a low energy dog if your time is limited.

but you still have to give it a couple of hours a day

You can end up with a fully trained awesome dog who instead of getting gassed gets to keep you company

Shelters and rescues are the way to go. All my cats are rescues. I'd never go with a breeder.

What? Corgi's are AWESOME.

He's probably more of a tea cup kind of guy:
