that's exactly what the immagrant mexicans are doing. They take money out of "this poverty leve" and send it back home gleefully.
 
the Irish were povs when they came to America.. how come they made it out to become a backbone middle class people. id venture to say that the "walls" were taller for them.

Your first paragraph is bullshit desh. You have absolutely NO idea what my background is or whom I have dealt with. The point that you choose to ignore, is that there ARE foods out there that are healthy and cheap. I have never said they have it easy. Nor have I suggested that they don't have to work much harder than those of the middle and upper classes to make it.

Your second paragraph I agree with completely. Education is most certainly the key. Which is why I support the use of vouchers. Especially for the poor. If the money is going to be spent on their education then give them the choice of where to send their kids to school. Give them the best chance to make it out. I would personally like to see an increase in availability of quality pre-schools for the poor as well. Teaching languages in the formative years will give the kids an edge when going into K-12. At the same time if the parents are able to take their kids to pre-school, they do not have the problem of finding quality care.

In addition I would increase the educational opportunities for the parents. Because as you said.... it is an investment in the future of this country.

Yep, Chap. Ethiopia is what we should set our standards to. Once your an Ethiopian, you're pretty well off, ane no one can be poor if they have any more than that.
