It's a weed, and with the right fertilizers can be grown easily. It can be grown bad but I doubt unsafe. IE Charlie browns xmas tree is not some tree I'd like to smoke.

By safe, they mean the anti-prohibition description: Putting the sale and distribution into the hands of trustworthy and accountable individuals and taking the control out of the hands of criminals.

I like this move. While I don't want the government to handle manufacturing of the weed, I agree with taking the trade away from criminals. Now the weed is gonna suck. The government will continually refine the strains to produce the least effect. They will argue this is for safety. Studies will not be able to prove higher THC content provides greater relief and thus they will be able to justify geneticly engineering the high out of weed.

Did i say I liked this move? I did, but only because I think it's a great strategic move. I'm totally frightened for the future of oregon weed

this is for medical marijuana alone. It won't do anything to take the trade out of the criminals hands, especially considering the amount of tax that gov is going to put on it.
 
if you legalize or decriminalize more will be grown here and the mexicans would need to get real jobs

yep, it's simple supply and demand. right now supply is kept low through prohibition. When it's leagl, the black market will be worthless.
