I think those who don't like masks don't need my influence one way or the other. I think however at some point people need to be responsible for themselves and I should not have to play dress up to appease and influence idiots.

I had no idea when I began that thread almost a year ago how long it would take until we reached the peak.

I also had no idea that when we reached that peak, there might be more than one peak.

Well, we reached a peak at the end of January 2021.

Hooray!

But that wasn't the end of the virus.

It merely meant that we finally stopped adding more new cases than were resolved.

The number of Active Cases peaked and began to fall for the first time. And that felt good.

But our progress just halted.

Yesterday, for the first time since the end of January, we began to see the numbers start to rise again.

Yesterday showed more Active Cases than the previous day.

Gov DeSantis of Florida deserves much of the credit for killing our progress.

He foolishly dropped all restrictions in Florida.

And now Florida is recording more New Cases per day than California, even though California has nearly twice as many people.

Spring Break has not been just college kids. Many adults have gone there to get away from the stress of fighting the virus. That has created an epicenter.

Spring Break has become Florida Spring Super-Spreader.

We have not learned our lesson. More pain, more dying, more heartache, more loss are all on the way.

We have got to do better. We have got to be more responsible. We must stay the course until the job is done.

Gonna be a long, long time before I ever go down to Florida. Used to go down to Tampa to catch some AL baseball, but I think I'd rather drive up to DC/Baltimore instead.

And the vaccines are not 100% effective, and variants are known to be resistant to vaccines.

Sorry. We don't live in the world we think we should have.

We live in the world we do have.

And that means the conscientious must set the proper example for the irresponsible.

It is up to each individual to decide for themselves which side of that equation they fall on.

And it is logical that the irresponsible will not wish to think of themselves that way, and will come up with all kinds of reasoning for justifying doing what they wanted to do all along anyway.

That is to be expected.

It's a numbers game.

We just need enough good people doing the right things to offset the ones who won't comply.

Well, it doesn't matter if you like masks or not, the fact is that masks stop the spread, and had you worn a fucking mask and washed your grubby hands, you wouldn't have ended up as one of the first pigs to catch it.

You had to really go out of your way to catch COVID in that first month, when you said you caught it.

We live in a world that cant be shut down any longer. We live in a world where vaccines are used to prevent spread of viruses. we live in a world where we have a vaccine that is so effective even talking about masks is silly. We have enough "good people". the dummies are going to do what they do no matter what we do.


I don't need to wear a mask anywhere not required for their mental benefit.

People have voluntarily taken the steps to stay home and not spread the disease.

The reason most people aren't going out is because it's too dangerous to do so!

And it's only too dangerous because you spent the last 15 months lying about COVID, which turned it into a pandemic that people feared.

These vaccines are not 100% effective, and most of your "very fine people" aren't going to get them, which is going to only proliferate COVID and continue to evolve new variants that are more resistant to the vaccines.
