Why are elections close that we have to let the Supreme Court decide, as with Bush v. Gore?

Why is the popular vote not along with the Electoral vote?
 
Elections are indecisive because ideologically incompatible people are trying with no success to live under the same government.

You should be far more concerned with the attempt by trump and his supporters to undermine this election, to undermine our democracy and constitution, to destroy what we as a nation have built over the past few hundred years.

I am concerned with the structure of power. You should too. We need to understand power, not parties and personalities.

Why is right wing Reagan followed by centrist Clinton? Why is right wing Bush followed by centrist Obama?

Why is right wing Trump followed by centrist Biden?

You still refuse to comment on why this President and his followers are willing and able to destroy this constitution in the name of autocracy? Surely you support their actions completely.

More like Right of Center Reagan followed by Left of Center Clinton who was forced back to the Center by a Republican Tsunami that took control of Congress...

Or Right of Center Bush II who was followed by Progressive Leftist Obama who got a smackdown by Congress flipping once again Republican and was left powerless because he (Obama) couldn't manage to work with that Congress unlike Clinton who did.

Now we have Right of Center Trump followed by a more aggressive Progressive Leftist Democrat party with a semi-senile Biden heading it. If history is any indication, they will totally screw the pooch in the next two years pushing all sorts of idiotic and economy wrecking Leftist drivel like the Green New Deal and in 2022 get yet another smackdown in Congress with a Red Tsunami of Republicans read to fight everything they do.

The Democrat party never learns. They need to dump their Progressive Left-wing for something more politically sane and electable.

That's not what an oligarchy is.
An oligarchy is a socio-economic class of people seeking political dominance for their class.
Only the tiniest percentage of Republican are oligarchs.
The vast majority are duped followers.

Ideology is manufactured by intellectualism and morality.
The Republican Party rank and file has neither, and thus their ideology sucks.

Division is caused be people genuinely being incompatible.
Unity among incompatibles is a pipe dream.
Effective politicians on both sides help their side win--they don't seek impossible unity.
