So boot camp was torture? Wow.yeah people who make light of such things astound me. Sleep deprivation in particular can be rather severe. Limiting sleep I would say is not torture. But keeping people up for 22 hours consistently certainly is.
I'm supposed to clap again, right?I guess we need to just include a torture merit badge in the scouts....
It apperars to be such a noble effort in protection of our country after all.
Or so the leaders of our country tell us....
The first 4 weeks or so. We'd be falling asleep while standing in formation. So boot camp was torture? Wow.
How long they do that for?
I think some advocate so called light torture on FP. Alpha probably does as does William Lawrence. I think only Alpha would relish it though.
Yes, it was them that I was thinking of. Do you ever think about, just how evil are those people, that when you change message boards, you don't find those opinions? They can really get you to having fixed opinions about certain kinds of people, but then, maybe they are representative of no one, except for a group of five or six really evil bastards who happened to find each other on the internet.
But maybe there are some like that on FP? I don't know. I wonder about it though.

BB attracted the worst of humanity. But, even on FP there were those who were totally psyched to use induced hypothermia on suspected terrorists or insugents. Astonishing. Guess what they're political persuasion was?
I saw a show on the History channel once, about how the Nazis used induced hypothermia experiments on polish and jewish prisoners. Pure evil.
It is to help you learn to take orders better. Getting into such a habit can ultimately make you safer in a wartime scenario. Not often, you would be in more danger, like USCit's scenario with the Lt., but more often than not getting into such a habit would actually save you.I really think it is unnessarily cruel fake macho bullshit, what they do to you guys in boot camp, but, we are doing it to these prisoners to the point it is causing hallucinations. So I imagine there is some degree of difference, but I don't know how much. And I don't find it cool in boot camp either, even to a lesser degree. It's a damned good indication of how stupid the whole macho culture is. Your brain works better with 8 hours of sleep. Fact. You will be safer, if you are thinking better. Fact. Why all this other bullshit? What are we proving here? This doesn't have something to do with penis size does it? Because that is always over my head.
So where did you guys come from what is BB. Is it still up?

My father has pretty much said the same when I asked him about Basic. You don't want certain types in a foxhole with you. Military life isn't for everybody. Probaly not the best thing for you Darla. Nothing wrong with that of course. But I'm glad some are suited for it.
It was why I went into Intelligence rather than a more combat capacity. There are all types in the service, including many thinkers. It isn't necessarily for everybody, but those whom I met and became friends with were among some of the best people that I have met to this day.So did you learn to take orders? I can't believe you were in the military Damo. I mean, I know usc was too, but I think he was drafted? You seem like too much of a thinker to be comfortable there.
It just so happens, I'm more fun than Damo in a foxhole, and you don't know what you are missing mister.
What do you mean? You wouldn't trust me in a foxhole? Or you don't think I can take orders?
