Outrage as baby dies after genital mutilation in The Gambia

And there are those that are below the age of consent and have had there sex organs removed to try to appear like the opposite sex and have regretted it. IMHO If adults want to remove their breasts or penises fine go for it. But if you are not an adult the surgery should not be done except in cases of genital malformation.

^ ^ ^ she screamed shrilly. lol

We've all heard of "hermaphodites," right? Yes, that condition is surgically fixed by "genital mutilation" to allow the kid to have the appearance of the sex he/she is genetically. You busybodies though want big govt. to pass laws forbidding this type of life-changing (for the better) surgery.

FGM is the deliberate cutting or removal of a female's external genitalia.

The most frequently cited reasons for carrying it out are social acceptance, religious beliefs, misconceptions about hygiene, a means of preserving a girl or woman's virginity, making her "marriageable", and enhancing male sexual pleasure.

This is why people from third world barbaric Muslim cultures should not be let into the country

They bring that shit with them

Meanwhile an American dies approximately every ten seconds. 24-7-365.

An African every 3 seconds, including a child every 6 seconds.

And I'm supposed to be concerned about a baby in Africa who was abused?

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.

Newsflash, it's not only Muslims that practice FGM. Some "Christian" sects do, also. Furthermore, what's wrong with the men who demand that this practice be followed?

"FGM is practised predominantly within certain Muslim societies, but it also exists within some adjacent Christian and animist groups.

The practice is not required by Islam and fatwas have been issued forbidding FGM, favouring it, or leaving the decision to parents but advising against it. However, FGM was introduced in Southeast Asia by the spread of Shafi'i version of Islamic jurisprudence, which considers the practice obligatory

There is mention of it on a Greek papyrus from 163 BCE and a possible indirect reference to it on a coffin from Egypt's Middle Kingdom (c. 1991–1786 BCE).

It has been found among Skoptsy Christians in Europe, Coptic Christians in Egypt, Orthodox Christians in Ethiopia, Protestants and Catholics in Sudan and Kenya. The only Jewish group known to have practiced it are the Beta Israel of Ethiopia.

Why didn't her parents have the guts to forbid her from doing this, and for not giving in to pressure from doctors? The adults in her life really screwed her over.
