Palingate at CSU

you said it was wrong for palin, yet when i mention kerry, you bring up bush

never once complaining about kerry like you did palin

that is hypocritical

Because the topic of the thread was not Kerry, it was Palin. Kerry was just a "visitor".

True. But do you remember the same about Edwards? Came from a lower middle-class background, first person in his family to attend college, a former "average joe" ... and he was raked over the coals for getting a designer haircut. So nobody's picking on Palin any more than all the others out there, it just depends which side one is on.

The difference really is he made his millions before he ran for the Senate and then the VP office so he had been rich the entire time he was in the public eye. That doesn't take away his background or where he came from though. Palin hadn't made her money until after her VP run so here she was in the public eye still living the 'average joe' lifestyle.

I'm not trying to defend Palin I'm just stating my thoughts on the differences.

So Palin should get a pass unless and until she decides to run for office?

She's a major political personality and is treated as one.

One big difference might be Edwards was paid by the University to come in and speak at no charge to the students listening.

Where Palin is speaking they are charging $500 a head to listen to her. I don't know how these things work but I'm assuming her fee comes out of the money raised thus is not costing the school anything unlike Edward's case.

please learn what a strawman is...pointing out that you didn't criticize kerry for the same thing you're criticizing palin for is not a strawman, it is in fact pointing out your hypocrisy

you've desperately tried to spin your way around it, but its glaring...is it really so hard to admit you are hypocritical on this issue? is it really too much to ask to have honesty and consistency?

Oh, was that the point?

I thought it was about ignoring public disclosure laws, and displaying Palin's crumbling facade with regard to identifying as an average American.

really?....you tried to parallel it to Pelosi....did you really think the issue regarding Pelosi was disclosure?......

I have to laugh at the crazy lefties, they just can't let Sarah Palin go. Their light-skinned man with no Negro dialect won the election, yet they still are obsessed with her. I guess they are terrified Obama is another one-term loser and looking for any way to deflect how bad he has fucked up the country.

1. The topic was a current event about Palin, not a years'-old event about other politicians.

2. The spin was introducing Kerry and something that happened six years ago and in a different context. That was done by you.

3. Any hypocrisy you attribute to me about Kerry can also be turned back on you. After all, you didn't bring bush into the equation and he did the same things Kerry did. And for the record, I criticized both Kerry and bush for playing up to the average joes, whereas there hasn't been a peep of criticism out of you for Palin.

4. I'm not reluctant to criticize pols or former pols I disagree with and that's included Obama, numerous times. So how about explaining why Palin is off-limits and has to be handled with kid gloves.

Somebody with your expertise at sarcastic rejoinder shouldn't have such a problem recognizing it in others' posts.

I even tipped you off by typing </sarcasm>.

are you lying? because earlier you claimed you didn't recall kerry saying he was an average american/joe...now you're saying you criticized him

and i never complained about kerry, so why woudl i need to complain about bush? next you try a gotcha, get your facts straight.

Again. I said Kerry tried to play up to the average joe, not that he said he was an average joe. My exact words: "He led as much a privileged life as did bush."

Yes, you did complain about Kerry. You posted a picture of him with this comment: "he tried very hard to make himself an average joe....come on christie, he constantly tried to downplay his elite status". That was criticism. Why didn't you use both kerry and bush as your examples, if you weren't really complaining?

Once more, how about explaining why Palin is off-limits and has to be handled with kid gloves.

I read her book and she endlessly touts her credentials as an average American based on how she lives, works, prays, raises her kids, etc.

as did john kerry....and i'm willing to wager you never complained about that

I don't recall Kerry ever calling himself an average American. He led as much a privileged life as did bush. In fact, the two had more in common re: money and upbringing than they had differences.

Again. I said Kerry tried to play up to the average joe, not that he said he was an average joe. My exact words: "He led as much a privileged life as did bush."

you went off on palin and then i called you out for not going off on kerry...your first words were...i don't recall him saying that, then i showed you a picture of him touting his averageness and you all of a sudden remember him playing it up...

nice try christie :)

????....I never would have suspected the </sarcasm> was directed at yourself for trying to parallel Pelosi and Palin....I assumed it was directed at the reference to Pelosi as a "Queen....

I still get a kick out of Kerry falling while skiing and blaming his Secrete Service detail, saying that they cut him off. :)

Now I get it! For every criticism I post of a conservative, I should also do the same for a liberal, just to keep things fair and balanced.

And for every criticism you post of Obama or liberals, you should do the same for a conservative, also keeping it fair and balanced. But we know that will never happen.

Take a knee already, yurtie. I know this is all just a smokescreen to avoid answering my repeated question: Why is Palin off-limits to criticism and why does she have to be handled with kid gloves?
