Palin's hypocrisy!

I find it interesting that she could give a whole speech with 7 or so words written on her hand and no 'prompter and people are trying to say it makes her somehow "stupid" when it is actually evidence that she is a gifted speaker who is capable of delivering a speech on a topic with simple cues. Seriously, that is tough to do.

*sigh*

In the Press room, there is a teleprompter. The Press complained that pictures were obstructed so they moved it to the back of the room on a large screen TV. He uses the teleprompter at most times even during what you are calling "unscripted" appearances.

(sigh)

Dude - give it up. Don't play into the exaggerator's hands.

He did an interview with Katie Couric on Sunday before the SB; are you suggesting he's pulling his answers to her off of a teleprompter?

When he does a press conference, are you suggesting that he waits for some guy backstage to type in what he should respond to a question with, and then responds by reading it off the teleprompter?

(sigh)

That's idiocy. As I said, the guy is pretty smart, and pretty good on the fly. He knows the issues. You righties do a lot better when you're hammering him on policy disagreements, for which you have an actual case from your perspective.

I think he has a prepared statement that he reads off the 'prompter and certain questions that have been anticipated have a response that can be given through the 'prompter.

It is, again, weak to try to excoriate Palin for using notes for what Obama would have used a 'prompter. My point is that it is a sign that she is a gifted (and actually knowledgeable) speaker if she can give a solid speech like that with 7 words written on what was at "hand"...

And this was brought up by you "lefties" not us "righties" as an attack on a person you "lefties" want to portray as incapable.

Wow, have you been the master of exaggeration.

You guys can't have it both ways; the right often complains about Obama speaking too much to the media, and that includes "non teleprompter" events - press conferences (you probably forgot about those during the Bush years), interviews, the works.

Yes, he uses a teleprompter for his speeches, but he logs plenty of impromptu camera time. Stop exaggerating.

Your response makes no sense! Obama is teased and picked on because (a) he over exposes himself to the media and (b) because he uses a teleprompter more than any other president...EVER! The fact that he could not deliver comments to the press after meeting with a group of 6th graders without his scripted teleprompter talking points is P A T H E T I C!

There are plenty of youtube videos where he was without his teletoys and he was stuttering all over the place!

A) My comment was taking issue with ID's comment that he's "pathetically insecure" to talk without one. He's not.

B) I understand that he uses one for his opening statement at pc's, and that he used one for a statement in that school; but, he responds to questions on his own, and he spoke to the kids in that school on his own (in a separate classroom from the teleprompter).

C) I have already stated on this thread that I have no problem with Palin using notes, though I thought it was funny that she wrote them on her hand.

Cool.

Now, I'd like to hear what the people who actually attacked Palin think.

I just think that the four points she wrote down were so simplistic that it was remarkable that she needed to have them written on her hand. It was one small step above having her NAME written there to insure she wouldn't forget THAT.

Wow, what a startling yet revealing statement! The four points are so simplistic, yet through months of debate, declining poll numbers and even losing their coveted Massachusetts senate seat, the Democrats still seem totally oblivious to those simple points. Maybe you guys should try writing them on your hand?

the notes on her hand weren't there for her speech... they were there for her interview. the speech was given from written prepared remarks.

maybe you should go slander someone else.

Did you see her give the speach... She read it from paper on the lectern. She did not do a particularly good job delivering the written speach. The notes on her hand she used in the Q&A. Look into what you are talking about.

SHE DID NOT GIVE A SPEECH WITH ONLY 7 WORDS WRITTEN ON HER HAND, SHE HAD THE TEXT ON PAPER IN FRONT OF HER!

DAMO watch it before you comment further!

is all criticism now categorized as an "attack"?

One can not be called a hypocrite without being able to then whine about being "attacked"??? really???

And feel free to check out post #80 where I addressed this point to Jarod.
