Papal front runners. If the Black guy becomes the next pope, white Republicans will scream DEI till their buttholes explode

No he gave them the power to teach the Gospel that will lead to the forgiveness of sin . Only God can forgive sin
That is not correct. Do you really need the citations? God is the only one that forgives sins but it's though those with the authority to do so.
I love watching Orange Jesus worshipers discuss the Bible and speak for God.

Why would God give MAN the authority to be the gate keeper to forgiveness of sin? Can you show where it says that? You have priests that are sometimes pedophiles giving confession and saying they forgive you of your sins. Even John Paul ll said priests how the power of forgiveness in one of his books . I have a couple copies of it. I think they are in the attic now.

I don't know WHY God (Jesus) gave man the authority to forgive sins I just know that he DID. Yes sometimes thats true. So what? God can do what he likes. Too bad you didn't read them.

As to where it says what I claim

Matt 16:19
Matt 18:18

I know you non Catholic types like your king names version

Matthew 16:19
King James Version
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Matthew 18:18
King James Version
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

I never said they were ALL evil. The very church that YOU defend murdered people who chose death instead of betraying their faith in Christ. You can't possibly defend the inquisition can you?
After all these centuries I don't know of a single Catholic who applauds the Inquisition. It's a huge stain on the Church. Now can you condemn the Protestants who claimed early American women were witches, and had them hanged? How about the Protestants who tortured and killed Quakers?

The key to heaven is the GOSPEL Christ gave the gospel to the apostles and charged them with spreading the gospel so that those that hear it can be saved.

Again what you have in your exegesis is imperfect men deciding who and who cannot get forgiveness. They disciples went around preaching the gospel. I can give you examples of Christ forgiving sins can you give me an example of a disciple forgiving sin?

You don't seem to understand the concepts of age of accountability and grace. We all become accountable for our own actions eventually infants aren't accountable for their own actions so they are covered by God's grace.
You don't seem to understand that the Christian world consisted of Orthodoxy and Catholicism until the 16th century. Protestant beliefs were defined by different men at different times, and men are fallible in the way they interpret the word of Good.

And one true Church. If you look everyone , save one, has at least one false teaching of the Catholic Church in it. Virtually all of the protestant churches have splintered out of the Catholic Church and took with them false doctrine from the Catholic Church. The Bible is the one infallible guide for Christians. If your denomination is teaching something counter to the Bible then you need to pray for God's help in finding the correct one.
If you think that the Catholic church doesn't revere the Bible, you're wrong. Catholics are taught from both the Old and New Testaments, but I disagree that the Bible is infallible because the men who wrote it weren't. Furthermore Catholics are Christians, i.e. believers in Jesus Christ.

Yes I can. And almost all protestant churches have false teachings they took with them when they split off the Catholic Church. They certainly are not without fault. Most of them at least.

The Catholic church's teachings have remained largely unchanged since that time.

I don't have to give examples of the apostles forgiving I showed you where Jesus gave them the authority to forgive sins. You telling me I am wrong is not a valid counter argument. It's your OPINION. what I showed was not my opinion but rather what Jesus SAID. Now I can decide to pay attention to Jesus or to you and your "exegesis". No offense but I'm picking Jesus

You are entitled to your opinion. Even if you are wrong.

There is only ONE way to correctly interpret God's word. He knows what he meant. It is up to us to study and pray to find out what he means. If your Church is teaching something that is counter to the Bible it is time to find a new church.
There are many religions whose sources are not the Bible... Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism for example. Are you saying these people are condemned or what?

Christ was a Jew and HE observed the 7th day of the week not the 1st day of the week. His own mother observed the 7th day after his death. The Jews have continued to observe the same day of the week that Christ observed until today. Paul 's observance on the Sabbath was documented more than 70 times in the NT.

Here are what some various languages call Saturday.

Arabic: Sabet
Armenian: Shabat
Bosnian: Subota
Bulgarian: Sabota
Corsican: Sàbatu
Croatian: Subota
Czech: Sobota
Georgian: Sabati
Greek: Savvato
Hebrew: Shabbat
Hungarian: Szombat
Indonesian: Sabtu
Italian: Sabato
Latin: Sabbatum
Maltese: is-Sibt
Polish: Sobota
Portuguese: Sábado
Romanian: Sambata
Russian: Subbota
Serbian: Subota
Slovak: Sobota
Slovene: Sobota
Somali: Sabti
Spanish: Sabado
Sudanese: Saptu
Ukranian: Subota

Catholics observe the day of the Sun not the Sabbath. In fact they claim changing the day is a mark of their authority over God's law.

Reverend Steven Keenan’s Doctrinal Catechism we read this: “Question: Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept? Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her; she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the seventh day; a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.”

Saturday is the Sabbath of the 4th Commandment not Sunday.
Are you a Seventh Day Adventist?

I can tell that your view of Catholicism is confirmation biased. You're not really interested in learning what Catholics believe, any more than you're interested in what Muslims believe. You prefer to cherry pick.

There are also a fair # of Christians who don't see the Bible as the ultimate source of truth.

Personally, I think there is a lot of truth in the Bible, but that it is far from infallible. Men have never been able to resist putting their own agendas into anything.

Even Paul says, "Therefore brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word or our epistle" 2 Thessalonians 2:15
