They all stood! Most saluted. Others held their hand over their heart. Nary a soul knelt in protest. The anthem was exquisitely And beautifully sung by a combined choir of solders and sailors. The crowd cheered to the high heavens and there were American flags everywhere. The game was a fantastic display of defensive football, as Army beat Navy by 7 points for Army’s 3rd win over the Navy in the last 3 years after the Navy had put together 14 consecutive years of victories over the Army.

The President of the United States was at the game. He sat till halftime on the Army side of the field and in the second half he sat on the Navy side of the field. The young solders and sailors ganged around him, shook his hand and talked with him.

After the game the players together crossed the field and sang the songs of the Army and the Navy schools.

It was the Football Game Of The Year as it always is for every proud American. God bless America’s armed forces, they’re truly the pride of the nation!

I enjoyed the game...and I love the Alma Maters of both schools. The pageantry is always moving...and it certainly was this year.

Unfortunately, the abomination, Donald Trump, was in attendance...and that was a severe blight on what otherwise was an event to enjoy and admire.

Disclaimer: I consider Donald Trump to be an incompetent, ignorant, boorish, classless, disgusting dolt...which may have played a part in my considerations of what Robo spewed.

No doubt they rallied around the flag! For the cause of the military and the cause of more war on demand. You've spelt out your priorities very well in your gushing of patriotism.

But the crowd there didn't represent the country in numbers that would indicate it's all gung-ho and full steam ahead for the country and Trump. It's a clever attempt by Trump to boost his ratings but it's far too late in my opinion.

Seven generational hot shooting wars in majority muslim countries with no clear goals or end point; simply occupations at the behest of the Wall Street/donor/"job creator" class. $21T of spending the Pentagon cannot account for, even after an "audit", between 1998-2015. Fawn over your godleaders and praise them and the finery of their graven images. Relish in the gladiatorial ambiance of corporate state homages to the empire. When was the corporate state military machine last used for defense?

It's alarming in the degree to which he is sold out his soul to the system. He's far from alone but at least his accomplices are being challenged through the results of the mess that Trump has created.

I'm still quite confident that Trump will be brought down soon. I think there's great hope for that, even if we have to fear the possibility of Trump's last hurrah being nuclear war.

I can see his ego heading that way, how historical would he be then in his own mind. Besides, this economic system is not going to get better, another war will be pushed, watch.

Love how the white trash "patriots" get a hardon when the flag is mentioned but had no trouble having avoided military service .Maybe if these slugs had served and witnessed war first hand they might not now be cheerleaders for mindless patriotism

These are the people who protested against our soldiers in the 60s and 70s while smoking pot every day. These are the people who started the war on Christmas. These are the people who are knocking down our historical monuments in New Orleans, Memphis and other American cities.
