Pelosi won't budge on troop pullback dates in war funding bill

Battle, an occupation is an occupation. It doesn't matter it the guise for it is benevolent or sinister. The results are almost always a disaster. Not always, but almost always. There are a couple of historical occupations that were not, but they were under completely different circumstances. I'm not surprised by the carnage in Iraq, upset about it, yes, but surprised? No.

And I think I'll forego the joint, and instead have a Pipeline Porter and some coconut shrimp. Maybe a shot of Evan Williams for dessert.

mo-betta little Kahuna...albeit we disagree on the Iraq war and the war on terrorism...we do agree on pulling our troops out of Germany,Japan and Korea...for different reasons maybe...but it is a start in the right direction...:)

It most certainly is. We must stop trying to be an Empire. Empires crumble to dust, all of them, every single one. We can trade, and excercize our interests in a responsible way, but we should't be in 140 countries. Thats imperialism, and it will be the end of us.

I suggest you read "A Republic, Not an Empire" by Pat Buchannan. Excellent historical overview of American Foreign policy, and absolutely predicts September 11th 2 years before it happened.

Maybe someday. I've got about 5 books to get through before I go on another shopping spree at Barnes and Noble.

Have you read "Where the Right Went Wrong"?

Do you disagree with Buchanan's case that he lays out in "A Republic"?

I haven't...as for Pats take...I agree with most...but being human and opinionated I agree with some of what others say and disagree with other parts!;)

However did nancy visit the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan over the Thanksgiving Holiday...nope but John McCain did...the troops told him they wanted to finish this war...it never fails to amaze me that those in harms way do not have a problem doing their job...but those who sit in their cozy living rooms try their best to put words in the soldiers mouths...why is that?

C'mon, don't be that easy.

Do you really think the troops are going to tell him to get them the fuck out of Hell? Who told you that's what troops told McCain? .. McCain?

If what McCain said was true, why are the troops supporting Ron Paul more than McCain?

try this ...

Poll: 72 percent of troops want out of Iraq in a year

Seventy two percent of U.S. troops in Iraq believe the United States should pull out within one year, a column by Nicholas Kristof in Tuesday's New York Times reveals. The poll was conducted by Zogby International and is the first poll to examine the attitudes of those currently serving in the wartorn nation.

McCain is out of touch and senile, just like Duncan Hunter.

And thanks for the resounding, emphatic endorsement of Dr. Paul. :D

Talk about out of touch and senile...did you even watch RP's response on the debates...he looked like death warmed over...as were his responses...he got booed more than anyone else!
:cof1:

cause we have troops there still sure the fuck doesn't make it right.
That's not close to what I want done with my money, let Europe defend themselve's.

That I agree with. Europe can choose to defend itself, or not. There is no reason for us to do so.

Pelosi won't budge on troop pullback dates in war funding bill

If only.

A more accurate title would be:

Breaking Her Previous Best Record on Capitulation to Bush,
Pelosi Hasn't Caved on Pullback Date Quite Yet!
