Pence says Trump 'endangered my family' in Capitol riot on Jan. 6

In the days leading up to Jan. 6, 2021, Trump pressured Pence to overturn Joe Biden's election victory as he presided over the ceremonial certification of the results. Pence refused, and when rioters stormed the Capitol, some chanted that they wanted to “hang Mike Pence.”

The House committee that investigated the attack said in its final report that “the President of the United States had riled up a mob that hunted his own Vice President."

With his remarks, Pence solidified his place in a broader debate within the Republican Party over how to view the attack.

“Make no mistake about it, what happened that day was a disgrace," Pence said in his Gridiron Dinner remarks. "And it mocks decency to portray it any other way.”

Trump, meanwhile, has continued to spread lies about his election loss. He's even spoken in support of the rioters and said he would consider pardoning them if he was reelected.“Make no mistake about it, what happened that day was a disgrace," Pence said in his Gridiron Dinner remarks. Just about no one on the right talks about Pence that I see, he is a non factor.....it is the Mind Molders who keep yakking him up.

I have no use for Pence. He was always an obsequious type that hung on coattails to advance. He is overly religious and wants to make his more powerful. He calls his wife "mother'. Who does that? He has been a political nobody and even getting the VP spot has not changed that.
But Trump stirred people up to kill him. That is unforgivable.

Remember. Trump claimed he chose 'only the best people.'

But now he has parted ways with Pence because Pence would not help him steal an election that he lost.

So either Trump was wrong when he chose Pence or he was wrong in his 2020 election Big Lie.

Either way, Trump is wrong.

Wrong for America.

I am a liberal and I am telling you Trump was wrong.

So now you should go vote for him in the primary so he can take the nomination and then lose to President Biden once again in the general.

Republicans do struggle with learning lessons and repeating mistakes.

The '24 election appears to be shaping up nicely.

All those Republican candidates trying to take the party back from extremists, all those determined extremists, ready to bring Trump back.

What's going to happen is the good Republican votes will be diluted by the many, and Trump is the only one with a strong base (even if it is a cult of conspiracy theorists.) That is going to end up with Trump winning the nomination. That is going to turn off the many who refuse to vote for Trump again. Having Trump on the ticket is going to bring out the many who will vote for anyone to prevent Trump, and they will vote for Biden.

President Biden wins second term. Trump goes down as big crybaby who cannot accept loss, once again going with another Big Lie, not learning his lesson.

But Tucker says those guys screaming “Hang Mike Pence” we’re just joking.

“President Trump was wrong," Pence said during remarks at the annual white-tie Gridiron Dinner attended by politicians and journalists. "I had no right to overturn the election. And his reckless words endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol that day, and I know history will hold Donald Trump accountable.”
