Pentagon blames Trump for resurgence of ISIS

I don’t know that anyone is making such a claim.

My claim is Obama’s policy/inaction enabled ISIS to take over in Iraq.

It’s not really debatable.
I've already quoted Sailor's exact words for you, and you claimed that he didn't mean it.

That's a bit lame. You might be tired of discussing the status of forces issue. That doesn't mean that it has no bearing on this discussion.

Not to say that Obama didn't rightfully want to wind down Iraq. Cherry picking glimpses of a bigger picture doesn't negate all aspects of the entire picture.

Pandora's box, as it were.

edit...Obama also successfully put an end to ISIS' invasion of Iraq. He handed trump the ball on the 2 yard line.

Better late than never, I guess.

You have a ‘everything bad is Bush/Trump’s fault’ thing going while I’m willing to fault Trump for the resurgence of ISIS in Afghanistan.

Obama could have been more forceful in the SOFA negotiations but he wanted out of Iraq and campaigned on it. Again, I fault him less for that than for ‘dithering’ with ISIS as they set up their caliphate and slaughtering [not a metaphor] tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis in the process.

"A scathing new Pentagon report blames Trump for the return of ISIS in Syria and Iraq"

"A report from the Pentagon inspector general found that President Donald Trump's decision to rapidly pull troops out of Syria and divert attention from diplomacy in Iraq has inadvertently aided the Islamic State's regrouping in Syria and Iraq."

"The Department of Defense's quarterly report to Congress on the effectiveness of the US Operation Inherent Resolve mission said that "ISIS continued its transition from a territory-holding force to an insurgency in Syria, and it intensified its insurgency in Iraq" — even though Trump said ISIS was defeated and the caliphate quashed"

"The Trump administration's decision to focus its attention on Iran reduced its capacity to effectively counter ISIS in Iraq and Syria"

Seems Trump's "America First" policy, whatever that hell that is besides a cliche for the gym rallies, is imploding all over the world. We've lost strong relationships with traditional allies, watched the Far East fragment, allowed China to extend spheres of influence worldwide, authoritarian leaders to pretty much do what they want unchecked, and as we've seen here, even managed to screw up apparent success

But as long as Trump keeps insulting and demonizing the people and ideas the Trumpkins are afraid of, it's a "greater America," regardless of the realities
Just more of Trump's consistent incompetence.

Google is your best friend here. Simply research the origins of ISIS, and how they grew to be the killing machine that we all came to know.

It really isn't that hard. Most of us did it years ago.

Cite one link you lying bitch. Just one. We both know you can't.

Of course, Obama pulled out of Iraq because he was bound by treaty to do so. A treaty that he inherited from W.

Yes, and treaties are etched in stone and absolute and can’t be negotiated lol.

Obama fan boy.

Sailor is another one who only believes what the right-wing lie machine tells him to believe.

See...Sailor is smarter than to believe that nonsense. That just makes him a homophobic troll. Which is probably worse than a delusional moron who actually believes the nonsense that they post.

Wow...finally someone who either took the time to educate him/herself years ago, or just spent 45 seconds on Google. Why can't others show such an interest?

Of course, we could have agreed to Iraq's terms and stayed, but then we'd have to be accountable for our war crimes.

Can't have that.

He doesn't even seem to have read the link he posted.

LMAO. That's obvious. But then...none of them do. They read the header, and rush to post that which they believe is evidence.

"You can lead a horse to water"....as it were.

So, we had no diplomatic leverage, whatsoever, on the Iraqis lol?

more stupidity.
Trump didn't send a pain load of cash to fund Iran's expeditionary forces.
Iran economy is crippled under Trump
The usual right-wing propaganda. That "pain load of cash" was theirs to begin with. And Trump has only made things worse in the region.

Really?

How many wars has he got us in? How many countries has he turned into black slave markets?

I fault Obama a LOT MORE for that the withdrawal from Iraq.
al-Sadr is a fairly powerful player and if we had stayed -he threatened to put US troops under Iraqi law.

But ISIS marched unfettered into Anbar ( well they drove Toyota pick ups) when they could have been mowed down ( strafed) by our aircraft and kept out of Iraq
Of course, Obama was required by the treaty that he inherited from W to withdraw U.S. troops.
