Pete Hegseth confirmation hearing

That was just so bizarre... I thought they didn't want him to be confirmed?
Back in the middle of his presidency, the issues with Afganhastan weighed on Trump. He called in a room full of Generals to discuss how to correct the situation. They gave their opinions. Later, Trump called in a group of Officers and NCOs who had firsthand knowledge of how to deal with the locals, and they offered their opinions as to how to supply and staff what the US had invested.
Trump's actions pissed off the upper level military officers. Who was he to get opinions from the rank and file. This led to many leaks to the press and traitors like Miley actually exposed themselves.
Like Trump, Hegseth is an outsider and look for a bevy of retirements from those who promote war for their own benefit. The rats will seek refuge with jobs in the private sector.

I'll live with it until either he quits or gets canned... just like so many others who pledged fealty to the unstable twit.
Good answer.
BTW I had to look up,
fealty /fē′əl-tē/

noun

  1. The fidelity owed by a vassal to his feudal lord.
  2. The oath of such fidelity.
  3. Allegiance. synonym: fidelity.
    Similar: fidelity

My guess is that Trump will give him an illegal order to fire on American citizens who are protesting. It'll look more like My Lai than Kent State. Trump will die in office and Hegseth will be up on charges of mass murder.

Former Pentagon chief Esper says Trump asked about shooting protesters

At his Senate confirmation hearing yesterday, Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth refused to state whether he would follow an unlawful order given by President-elect Donald Trump. During the nationwide protests after George Floyd’s murder in 2020, Trump asked the then chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, “Can’t you just shoot them, just shoot them in the legs or something?” It is entirely conceivable that during his second term, what was previously a question becomes an order.

Everyone in the military chain of command swears an oath to the Constitution that requires them to disobey unlawful orders—and to be very clear, a mass shooting conducted by the government against its own citizens is definitely that....

Former Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper said President Donald Trump inquired about shooting protesters amid the unrest that took place after George Floyd's murder in 2020. He recounts that incident, and many others, in a wide-ranging interview with NPR's Michel Martin on All Things Considered.

Esper said he stayed in the administration because he worried that if he left, the president would more easily implement some of his "dangerous ideas."

The former Defense chief also said he hopes Trump does not seek the presidency in 2024.

"We need leaders of integrity and character, and we need leaders who will bring people together and reach across the aisle and do what's best for the country. And Donald Trump doesn't meet the mark for me on any of those issues."

Sez Mr. Tiny Penis himself who wants to make shooting republicans a national pastime.
