From my limited experience working with the army and Air Force as a civilian contractor generals tend to get in their positions by being the best ass kissers and once there have egos bigger than trump’s. Which is why they tend to promote the best ass kissers.
It’s a dysfunctional self-perpetual cycle.
I even heard this from several officers who have little to no respect for them.
Military management is what’s called ‘top down’ which is fundamentally ineffective, inefficient and breeds corruption.
That’s not just American military, it’s militaries in general. The nature of the beast . It is what it is.
