Pete Hegseth Published Column Saying Sex with Unconscious Woman Isn't Rape

In November 2024, Pete Hegseth, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for defense secretary, came under scrutiny for his past, in which a woman had accused him of sexual assault. In response, Snopes readers and various online posts raised another action from Hegseth's past — varied claims that he had either published or written a college newspaper column that said sex with an unconscious woman was not rape.

The claim appeared on X, along with a screenshot of text from the alleged article. The X post stated Hegseth was responsible for publishing such a column: "Pete Hegseth published a column in college that claimed having sex with an unconscious woman is not rape.

Oh,...and you know what else that rotten scoundrel did? One time when he was 12 years old he and Tommy Williams stayed out after dark and threw a whole dozen eggs at Old man Johnsons house! Can you believe that guy!!!!!!!

Please regale us with your military experience, and tell us about someone who served like Hegseth and why they should get a free pass for their actions
He can't because his only affiliation with the US military is attacking veterans who don't agree with him. Sad.

Thinks egging a house is equal to raping an unconscious woman.

There is no room in the Trump Cabinet except for rapists.

why couldn't Guano have been honest about what Hegseth wrote?...........have his lies become compulsive?.....
Pete published the article just as Guno stated. OTOH, I understand why Satanists and Orange Messiah worshipers lie to protect rapists like Pete Hegseth.

Hegseth did not write the aforementioned article about rape, he was publisher of The Princeton Tory when the issue in question was released. Publishers generally focus on and are responsible for a magazine's editorial and commercial direction.

So is the NYTs Chairman responsible for EVERY opinion in the paper?

What he wrote may be factually true, but then the law desperately needs to be changed. I’m only concerned if he believes that is what should be the law.

Reporting on the current state of the law doesn’t mean he supports it.
