It's for the United States in this survey
True, but it follows the trend of industrialized nations vs. growing agrarian nations.

The thing with n your graph that popped out to me is that only 37 percent of Israelis consider religion to be important, making Israel a very secular country, even though the Middle east conflict is generally caricatured as Judaism vs. Islam.

White Christian nationalism can't be sustained over the long term. The country is progressively getting less white.

I think one way Christianity has a revival in this country is if immigration continues to largely come from the global south, which tends to be very Catholic.
That's what Trump and MAGA want to end by deporting non-white people and limiting legal immigration.

American fertility rates have dropped below replacement rates, so if aging MAGA morons want to keep their full Medicaid and Social Security benefits, we have to have immigration from the global south to support elderly white MAGAs in their retirement years.

Doubt that's a major factor. When people get pissed at their church becoming too progressive, they just splinter off and form their own religious faction, like what happened with the schism in the United Methodist Church.
Or they join another preexisting church that more closely aligns with their beliefs. I doubt that wokeism is driving many religious people away from religion. Science, rationality, research, and logic do that. Terry's just a grumpy MAGAt who's going to bitch about woke libs in every thread he enters.

They have been trained like monkeys by right-wing influencers to make everything about Woke.

The rise of secularism and materialism clearly do play a role in the decline of faith. If nothing exists but matter and energy, there isn't any need for the spiritual and metaphysical.

MAGAts routinely vote against their own self interest. I think they will continue to hate non-white people for as long as Trump tells them to. They will blame Democrats when their checks stop coming.

Woke, trans, immigration, abortion, and guns. Rinse and repeat. MAGA exists for exactly one reason: To divide Americans in order to enrich and empower rich and powerful people. Individual MAGAts are just too stupid to realize they are being used.

I tend to think there is a middle ground between blind belief and rock solid proof; that is to say belief based on inference or circumstantial evidence.
The problem with that is...atheists see belief that there are no gods or belief that it is more likely that there are no gods...to be inferential on circumstantial evidence...while religionists see the belief that there is at least one god on thae same evidence.

Both are merely blind guesses.

Whether humans have a soul...same thing.

Whether there is something after the physical life...same thing.

Whether there is an afterlife of some kind...same thing.

The best thing that could happen for humanity is for everyone to accept that all the "answers" and "beliefs" to questions of that sort...are AT BEST...simply blind guesses.

Some of those blind guesses may hit the REALITY smartly on its head...BUT WE CANNOT KNOW WHICH GUESSES DO THAT.

Inference, intuition, and circumstantial evidence are the basis of almost all belief, religious or otherwise. Blind belief is a dubious thing.

The problem with atheists and religionists is that they are asking different questions. Atheists want proof of God in the form of scientific experiments and physical proofs. People like Isaac Newton and Augustine believed one could infer providential agency through natural revelation, which is to say the mathematical design and lawful organization of the universe.

Because Jesus loves haters, bigots and pedophiles just like Trump? Interesting conclusion, Terry.
No, because people who are religious generally have social limits on what they'll tolerate or accept as behavior. The radical Left on the other hand, tolerates all sorts of highly negative and often socially destructive behavior out of a misguided idea that being tolerant of it is a good thing. This is one of the major causes of high crime, poverty, and social unraveling that happens in deep blue cities and parts of the country.

That is, the Left stands for anything, and in the end stands for nothing. Anarchy results.

Israelis are fighting for their existence as a nation. The radical Muslims attacking them, and the US, are screaming "Death to Israel" and "Death to America!"

Your hatreds prove you are not a Christian, Terry. Just a White Nationalist bigot.

I'm not. I'm Buddhist.
You talk the talk but don't walk the walk, Terry. You hate anyone left of you and darker than you. That's not the path to Nirvana.

Please explain how your hatred of Leftists, Progressives, Gays, Trannies, Blacks, Mexicans, Jews and anyone else who doesn't fit your White Natioanlist ideology is walking the Noble Eightfold Path. Take your time. I'm patient. :)

The Muslims in Bosnia, Albania, Turkey aren't at war with Israel, so I don't see it as a Muslim vs. Jew conflict. It's a political conflict over land and resources, and nationalism is at play.

Coming from the urban Northeast, I find it very hard to believe that only 2% of Americans are Jewish.
