Pfizer says Covid-19 Vaccine is 90% effective... Stocks LOVE it.

Still has little to nothing to do with #COVID45, sorry. But still good news.

LOL. Sour grapes do not change the reality, this President cut through red tape and sped up the process, Trump has a good deal to do with it. And if the virus is a "trump virus" the vaccine is equally the "trump vaccine"... You may want to rethink that. The Kung Flu was beaten by changes Trump made to the policy, even though you really hate him and don't want it to be true.

That remains to be seen, but if Operation Bad Wind, Warp Speed, Pussy Grabber or anything else helps, I'm good with it.

My points on this were about Trump grabbing credit where none is due, not the fact he hasn't completely fucked up everything. His COVID-19 response is just one of the worst things he's fucked up. Operation Warp Speed was a good idea even if it was four months late.

I've typically called it by its more accurate name, COVID, or shorthanded it as 'rona. It's not a "Chinese virus" or a "Trump virus." It's a virus. But you can continue to pretend that #COVID45 had anything to do with the development of a vaccine that has yet to be approved, let alone released. Certainly if it pans out, it will be the game-changer we've all been (literally) dying for. Frankly I don't give a shit who wants to pretend to take credit for it -- I just want life to get back to where it used to be.

Let me guess -- you also call the Salk polio vaccine the "Eisenhower vaccine," right?

' Trumpovax is MY vaccine ! I was saving it for my inauguration surprise !

Pfizer on Monday revealed that a first interim analysis suggested its COVID-19 vaccine is more than 90 percent effective, and Vice President Mike Pence said this was "thanks to the public-private partnership forged" by President Trump. But The New York Times reports that Dr. Kathrin Jansen, Pfizer's head of vaccine research and development, "sought to distance the company from Operation Warp Speed," the Trump administration's effort to speed up development of a coronavirus vaccine, and from politics in general.

"We were never part of the Warp Speed," Jansen told the Times. "We have never taken any money from the U.S. government, or from anyone."

Pfizer did announce in July a $1.95 billion agreement with the U.S. government for 100 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate. But Bloomberg notes that "among the frontrunners, [Pfizer's] is the only vaccine project that did not take funding from the White House-led Operation Warp Speed program to bolster research, development or manufacturing." Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla previously touted this fact.

"I wanted to liberate our scientists from any bureaucracy," Bourla said in September. "When you get money from someone, that always comes with strings. They want to see how we are growing to progress, what types of moves you are going to do. They want reports. I didn't want to have any of that."

Jansen on Monday also told the Times this timing was not politically influenced, saying, "We have always said that science is driving how we conduct ourselves — no politics."

If folks were calling it the Eisenhower Virus then I would... I think blaming the virus on anybody at all is the most sloping forehead non-science partisan pile of smelly hate spilling from an ass crack that I have ever heard. Nobody called the hinievirus (H1N1) "the Obama virus" even though there are a ton of folks that pretty much think he was a shined up turd.

Before believing that this particular vaccine is going to be of any use to YOU consider the extremely difficult logistics of administering it.

It has to be stored at minus 70/ minus 80 degrees. That may well mean that its packaging of 1,000 doses can only be opened twice a day- and such deep cooling facilities are not common.
Recipients will require a booster shot after three weeks. That halves the number of people treated per batch.
Inoculations will probably require military participation.

There are in excess of ten million cases in the US right now.
You'd better hope that there are more practical solutions on the way - or you won't be getting a shot before your pension.

Wall Street will want this information suppressed- until after its stock dump.

Be interesting to see if Biden or Harris say something positive about this.
He has and now advisory board will make plans to coordinate the distribution.

They are gearing up and hope to hit the ground running, they have been working on it for months.

see how fake news works?? fake media sez: "not part of Op Warp Speed"

Pfizer got a government contract and government guaranteed distribution of 300 million doses.
Making the upfront money much more attractive an investment. Also the FDA will likely approve a "compassionate use" Thus It IS a joint venture, but not an equity partnership- which fake news blows right past

In what way would that interest you. It never interested you that Trump was a fucking asshole every fucking day in every fucking way
and made the wrong decisions every fucking instance. Did he ever say anything nice about the opposition?

Pfizer did agree to partner with the government on distribution of a vaccine, leveraging what will be a massive, complicated effort run by the federal government to ensure that as many people as possible can be immunized. But its development efforts weren’t part of the government’s program.

“Pfizer, unlike its competitors, did not join Operation Warp Speed, the government initiative designed to erase the financial risk of vaccine and therapeutics development by providing funding to companies and helping coordinate the trials,” The Washington Post’s Carolyn Y. Johnson reported Monday. “Instead, Pfizer plowed $2 billion of its own money into the project and then struck a $1.95 billion contract with the U.S. government to provide 100 million doses, contingent on the vaccine being effective.”
..

Who is denying Operation Warp Speed cut safety standards; the main reason Pfizer didn't sign on with them?
:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:
vaccines still have to reach the same efficacy and safety standards. They manufacture and prepare distribution while applying for FDA approval

They manufacture early, while last phase (larger samples) trial are still running-
but they are ready to go on the ground when the FDA approves

how many months will that take to "advise distribution"?
The government agencies make the policy and NIH/CDC will make guidelines from those

No stinking "advisory board" to slow it down wanted

The Left just love QUANGO's and extra bureaucracy, Biden is a doddering old fool and Operation Warpspeed, or anything like it, could never have happened if he was in charge.
