Hello Dutch,
You just identified why I could never succeed as a politician: Telling the truth to constituents is a sure-fire way to lose elections. LOL
Your hate for Republicans is not in your best interests, Ms. Poli.
Sure, I understand "fight fire with fire" and I understand "fear-mongering works". That doesn't mean I agree with the ethics of using such techniques regardless of how much "good" could be achieved by doing so.
That said, you can see by my memes that I'm a bit undecided on the issue.
Thoughts?
Well, the first thought is one of being perplexed. Have I ever said I hate Republicans? You'd be hard pressed to find me expressing any feelings about them. I try my best to leave feelings out of these discussions. No, What I post is not hatred at all. It is my honest impression, my understanding of the situation.
What you are assuming about me is entirely your take on it, and I assure you it is not accurate. I am the least hateful person you've ever talked to. I'm glad we have Republicans, Democrats, independents, everybody. Diversity makes America great. That includes diversity of view points as well as heritage. The more diverse we are, the better off we are. I have consistently said this, and I believe it.
I also tend to be quite literal. I try to say what I mean and mean what I say. We have no facial expressions here, no voice inflection. Our words are the only thing we have to convey our thoughts. I will greet anybody here and welcome them. I will talk to anybody. I only have one stipulation. We simply have to talk as equals. As soon as somebody begins talking down to me I don't get angry. I just cut it off. No offense, no ill will, no hatred. I just don't want to converse on that level. I don't want it directed at me, and it is plainly obvious I am not about to unload a bunch of pent up hatred on anybody else. It's just not there. I truly love everybody. It's just that some people have to be loved from a distance, so I honor that.
Even when I tell people I am cutting them off and why, I wish them well. There is no getting even, no getting back at them, no unloading on them. Nothing but love. And if they don't want to be nice then it has to be tough love. But no hatred. That would be a total misread.
Now you want me to critique you? I don't get what that has to do with politics. We are already out of my comfort zone here talking about me. I don't usually do that. It's not why I come here. What you've just read is about all I wish to say. PM me if you really want my honest impression of you, and I will try to be kind.
I am a bit surprised that you got hatred out of my post. That's kind of strange. I expressed none. All I did was give my impression of what's going on in our country. I believe it is accurate. Observing hatred is not hatred. I think it's sad that there is so much hatred. It's really holding our country back. I seriously wish everyone could just drop the hatred, learn to respect one another, and talk as equals the way I try to treat others. It's the golden rule. That's all.
If everybody had as much love for the world and humanity in their heart as I do there would be no war, no hatred, no racism, no xenophobia, no bitter resentment, no nations, no boundaries, no political roadblocks, no mass fooling, no Republican party as we know it today. Putin would not be in power. DT never would have.
I wish we could have an amazing and easily accessible education system that would teach everybody from the start about how hatred is dumb, foolish and severely limiting. Hatred is our biggest enemy. FDR said the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. That may sound like it makes no sense, but it is actually genius. Fear comes from hatred. And hatred is simply misunderstanding + rumors and gossip.
