Police Told to Stand Down in Charlottesville

Can you think of a better arrangement for society than to have Nazis and Antifas killing each other on the streets? So long as the fighting is contained, no bystanders are harmed or threatened, and no property crimes are committed, it's a win-win for America.

Sounds almost perfect doesn't it. Like a video game. Stupid motherfucking millennial with no fucking common sense

Works for me.

Sure it does. You are just trolling

I would warn you social justice warriors that think you are standing for something moral here. What you are seeing from the race hustlers is not about the Civil War.

Eventually these people will come after something YOU care about and you will be like WTF?

This is no different than the queer marriage discussion when we told you it wouldn't stop there. Now people are thinking it's ok for guys to pee in the same bathroom as 8 year old girls.

But as long as you and Damo feel good about yourselves and are no longer triggered that is all that matters

I'm not trolling. I genuinely believe that dead Nazis and dead Antifas is good for America. You seem to have a bleeding heart for them.

Confirmed: Police Told to Stand Down in Charlottesville—Did Nothing as War Broke Out

The ACLU confirmed late Saturday that police were given stand-down orders in Charlottesville. This invited violence and only fueled the chaos.

Charlottesville, VA — The events that unfolded in Charlottesville, Virginia this Saturday were tragic, hateful, insidious and even deadly. Saturday will go down in history as the day America’s hate reared its ugly face and proved to the world that this country is being divided — to be conquered. Adding fuel to the fire of hatred and violence were politicians who told police not to intervene and allowed the unchecked carnage to unfold before their eyes.

The stand down was confirmed by the ACLU who quoted a police source saying, “We’ll not intervene until given command to do so.”

This command never came.

There is no shortage of violent footage of clashes between neo-nazi white supremacists and counter protesters from Antifa and the like. Multiple violent battles raged on for several minutes as blood spilled onto the streets of this college town. Only several feet away were police officers — who did nothing to stop it.

Several members of the militia — armed with AR-15s and who appeared to be neutral in the fight — were recorded on multiple occasions attempting to keep the peace by breaking up fights and tending to the wounded. Their actions proved far more effective than the inaction of the police.

The only thing police seemed to be instructed to do was to break up the lawful assembly which only seemed to add fuel to the violent fire that was stoked throughout the day.

According to ProPublica, Charlottesville Vice Mayor Wes Bellamy defended the police tactics, noting “I’m not in the business of throwing our police department under the bus, because they’re doing the best job they can, “ said Bellamy. “I don’t think the police officers were just twiddling their thumbs.”

While policing violent crowds, like the ones in Charlottesville on Saturday, is no easy job, we’ve seen police across the country move in and act in situations far less chaotic.

Whatever the reason police were told to stand down, the result of their inaction was the same. Whether deliberate or not, Saturday’s police response served to fuel the already exponentially growing divide.

If ever there were time to call for peace in this country — it is now. The rapid growth of Antifa and white supremacists illustrates the polarizing effects that ‘divide and conquer’ tactics being pushed by the state and media are having.

We must realize that as long as the citizens keep fighting amongst each other, the behemoth state will continue to usurp our freedoms, rob us, divide us and control us to the point of complete despotism or civil war.

Correct. I happened to have the t.v on when the rally was in the early stages. Repeatedly, the newscasters referenced state (not local) police who were many blocks away, doing nothing to prevent the Nazis from committing acts of violence.

I believe they moved in after the murder, when it was too late.

Mayor is close with Clintons, who's close with Soros. Soros has been the big financer behind ANTIFA, BLM and even KKK (after all KKK was created by Democrats after the Abolitionist movement). He's been like a circus master for gladiator events. Just because Obama's gone and Clinton didn't win, this doesn't stop him. He's still going gung ho on instigating hate, violence, racism and division in our country.
Just when you had a thread with a modicum of credibility, you open your big mouth.

The driver of the car is directly responsible.

That said, AG Sessions needs to investigate this to see where the stand down order came from, and the appropriate charges should follow.

Or this will quickly get out of hand.
Kidding, right? You really think there was a 'stand down' order?

Really?

Or are you still reliving Benghazi, where there was similarly no 'stand down' order?

The ACLU claims there was one. You can watch the video yourself and see the cops standing there watching the thugs beat each other up.

If it quacks, it's a duck.

It was insane. I saw the beginning of the march. They were just walking along the street being their despicable selves. At the end of the street the protesters were all grouped up...just waiting for them. There was no reason for them to be allowed to be in such close proximity to them. The cops could have easily blocked off the area ahead of time and shown the protesters to an entirely different place for them to have their own demonstration maybe a few blocks or miles away.

Translation:
It's the police dept's fault for not protecting armed Nazis from themselves.

No. Unlike you I have a respect for the First Amendment. I don't have to agree with they say.

The question you have to ask yourself is how would this weekends march would have materially impacted anyone's life had they just been allowed to march without the Antifa crowd inviting violence?

They would have shown up. Marched. And that would have been it.

Zero impact on you and Damos life. Unless you get triggered more easily than I thought?

:dunno:

The Nazis showed-up packing rifles before Antifa even got there. Clearly neither sides is much into free speech.

Here's a good account of it: http://www.nationalreview.com/artic...cist-rally-first-hand-account-day-deadly-hate

Yeah, I'm very skeptical of this report.
The facts are generally true. I happened to be watching the news when the Klan rally began. Newscasters repeatedly mentioned State Police many blocks away with absolutely no interest in getting involved.

The police 'source' said that. Of course they're going to attempt to pass the buck after having taken a rather casual 'hockey game' attitude at first.

Virginia ACLU doesn't have much room to make any claims here. They are largely at fault for what happened. They successfully sued Charlottesville authorities who wanted to move the Klan rally to a much bigger venue about 1.5 miles away.
