Yes but what you say is stupid.
An unarmed mob that can completely surround every cop in the Capital, as they were doing, has defacto control of the guns those cops have on them. Cops on Jan6 were terrified to pull their guns knowing the mobs could take them and use that as justification, in their minds to kill the cops, and many in the mob were shouting to do just that, according to the cops that day.
The Congress people, with their security had retreated to a defensible place and were standing their ground there. Had Babbit and the flood of people following her got in to that room then the Congress people and the guns of the police would have been at the mercy of the mob. The security would be surrendering their charges if they let that mob in that room.
So no. Ashli had to die and it was a good shoot.
