You can also declare bankruptcy and stay in your home "if you can't pay", and there are actually tons of laws and protections in place for you to do that.

You know who makes the most off of rentals? Local municipalities.

They have raised taxes on rental property so high that they make the most out of everyone.

That's not right. They have driven up the cost of housing for everyone.

It's downright criminal.

On a 1200 sq ft house that's rental property, the bank might make $450-$750/yr while $8k+ goes to local government taxes. What can the owner make?

Less than the shitlords but more than the bank. It translates to unaffordable housing as well.

Why should people make less than the government on their own property?

It didn't used to be like that. If people want affordable housing, petition the local governments to get rental property tax back to normal.

The landlord and banks aren't gouging people, the local government is.

When I was a young man, 1 week's worth of work was supposed to cover your housing. That's not a reality for some these days due to local government greed.

You gotta have the right target if you want the price of housing to get back to normal.

A mortgage is far more important than someone just renting. A home owner/ mortgage payer has far more skin in the game than some renter does. Home owner made a sizable down payment, Paid property taxes, paid on the property for years gaining equity, the property value has increased. ALL THAT would be lost.

Which is what makes fucking over landlords so diabolical. If you set out to break faith between the people and the leaders making evictions illegal is what you would do.
