I loved Barry Foster, a very underrated actor. Did you ever get Van der Valk in the States, probably not? Not forgetting dear Anna Massey, she was in a film called Peeping Tom ten years earlier, it is now considered a masterpiece but at the time it was slated and destroyed the career of Michael Powell of Powell and Pressburger fame.

Never heard of Van der Valk but I actually watched Peeping Tom on Netflix just a year ago. I don't remember much about it and gave it only three stars. Yet reading the wiki article, it sounds so much better than I recall.

Barry Foster was good in Frenzy. Whatever happened to him?

Van der Valk had a hit with the title music called Eye Level. God, that was forty years ago. Barry Foster died a few years ago.

Powell and Pressburger made some of the best films of all time, in my opinion, and it was tragic how Michael Powell was treated for Peeping Tom.
