Pot culture

the power to tax is the power to destroy. allowing the government to tax OR PROHIBIT a simple weed or plant is not something the founders envisioned or intended the federal government to have.

Are you arguing that taxation is more destructive than prohibition? Are you claiming that allowing the government to tax rather than raid homes and jail people would be more invasive?

i'm arguing that it CAN be. much like it was by infringing on the peoples right to own machine guns.

I have not heard anyone suggest a punitive tax that attempts to prohibit use. Instead the taxes are intended to raise revenue. There is a pretty obvious difference.

It sounds to me like you are just trying to find away to oppose legalization.

exceptions would be charging a tax that is 20 times higher than the product themselves.

then you would be wrong. if you are unable to tell by my posts, I'm consistantly trying to figure out how the government has authority to prohibit possession.

there's nothing more ignorant and idiotic than begging to be a slave.
There's nothing more idiotic than thinking that anyone with a modicum of intelligence, would resort to buying weed. Legalize it, and tax those who aren't smart enough to grow it.

maybe you haven't noticed it lately, but there are millions of people in prison as we speak who did nothing more than buy weed because they were too lazy to grow it themselves.

No. They're in prison, because they were selling large quantities of it.
