Time is money, if you have to spend twice the time on the trial you get less money you could be getting with a new client.

True, but clients are generally the limiting factor, not clients. If clients were the limiting factor you would just hire more attorneys for the firm and it would cost more to re-do a trial... but that would be a good problem to have as you would be making tuns of money.
