Again, Trump was THE primary diplomat on that trip. He is the one that represents the United States. He is the one who agreed to accept a $400 million dollar gift from a terrorist country on behalf of the United States. A country he referred to as a terrorist country in his first term, by the way.

The story seems to be changing, as is the case with anything related to Trump.

The Pentagon and the White House’s military office swung into action, and Mr. Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steven Witkoff, played a key role.

Soon after Mr. Trump took office, military officials started to discuss how the United States could buy a temporary plane for Mr. Trump to use while Boeing’s work creaked along, an investigation by The New York Times found. But by May 11, when the president announced on social media that Qatar would be providing the plane to the United States, he characterized it as “a GIFT, FREE OF CHARGE.”

 
You do not give a 400 million dollar jet and not know that Trump owes you. What will he ask for, and what will Trump give? There is no deal Trump can make with Qatar without it being seen as a payoff. That is why presidents were banned from such things in the emoluments provision in the Constitution. You not only have to be careful about what a country offers, but also how it can be painted. Trump is still walking into walls . He learns nothing.

Qatar has signed up to the Abraham Accords and is anxious to abandon its old ways.

Over the past year, Qatar Airways has acquired a 25% stake in Virgin Australia and a 25% stake in South Africa-based regional carrier Airlink.
It placed an order last week for 160 Boeing (BA.N), opens new tab 777X and 787 planes with GE Aerospace engines worth $96 billion, the largest ever widebody deal for the companies, during U.S. President Donald Trump's high-profile visit to Qatar.
Qatar Airways saw above-market growth in passenger numbers from April 2024 until January this year, a senior executive told Reuters in March, up 9% across its network

That's great, but there are still reports of Qatar's ties to terrorism. Maybe, under the right conditions, and in a decade or more of Qatar keeping its nose truly clean, accepting a gift would be acceptable

In other words, like now....just bullshit talks and a few billion for planes and shit they don't need but buy anyways....STOP BELIEVING THIS CLOWN IS LOOKING OUT FOR THIS COUNTRY....The fact is, THE TRUMP CRIME FAMILY IS WALKING AWAY WITH A 400 MILLION DOLLAR PLANE THAT TAX PAYERS WILL SPEND MILLIONS TO CONVERT AND HIS SONS ALL CLOSED DEALS FOR TRUMP HOTELS, TRUMP GOLF COURSES AND A BOOK ON HOW DEEP THE THROAT MUST BE TO SEAL DEALS WITH THE SAUDI'S.
