The animal was a pet...there is a quarantine time...euthanizing should not have been immediate...they screwed up...Animal advocate groups will make it an issue, as they should....

lol, my neighbor has a cat that comes into our back garden and sneaks up on me or my wife from time to time and bites us. Completely harmless. Nothing. We actually find it amusing.
FFS, a squirrel can’t bite with the same force as a cat.
We never gave a thought to calling animal control and having that thing euthanized and tested for rabies. Besides there’s absolutely no reason to euthanize an animal to test it.
Sedate it and draw blood for chrissakes.
