Putting tariffs on movies for one.

Wow. Trump supporters praising Trump? Who would have thought?

Well, I don't know about it saying it all, but it certainly says a lot about him. As I've said in the past, I've never been a fan and I wouldn't have voted for him if I were American. That being said, I had hoped that he would at least be better than Kamala when it came to avoiding escalations with Russia. On that front, at least, I think he's held true. That doesn't mean that his peace attempts were well though out, just that he has at least refrained from making things worse with Russia.

I believe most Americans who are not enthralled with Trump are actually somewhat concerned by Trump's relationship with Putin. Trump has historically been quite kind to Putin, even going so far as to seemingly take his side occasionally against Ukraine.

Even in Trump 1.0 there were concerns with how close Trump was to Putin (even trusting Putin over his own intel services).

There is no "peacekeeping" that is going to happen with regards to Ukraine as Trump seems mostly interested in ensuring that Putin keeps his ill-gotten gains and the USA gets to pillage Ukraine for minerals until we are done with them.

Honestly there's no way to see Trump as a peace-maker or even a disinterested party in these negotiations. And the side he seemingly chooses most times is one that causes many of us concern.

In closing, I’ll say Trump deserves real credit for bringing both parties to the table,

Has he really, though? So far what I've seen are abortive attempts to strongarm Ukraine into taking Russia's deal which preserves for Russia pretty much everything they wanted and provides almost nothing of value to Ukraine.

Even the "minerals deal" is possibly just smoke and mirrors. And all it does is ensure the USA gets its bite of the apple as well.

securing the rare earth mineral deal

I think the real meat to this deal will come when we finally get resource estimates. All we have now are a couple of exploration reports from the old USSR using older exploration methods. We don't _really_ know how much of the good stuff they have and if it is even extractable economically.

There's a lot of "sizzle" for sale on this one. Let's wait until we see the steak.

, shifting the conversation from endless pleas for support amid battlefield stalemates and mounting casualties, and focusing on halting the bloodshed.

But that's all that has been happening during all of Trump's term as well. To my knowledge absolutely nothing has changed.

His team should get more backing from our media, which, believe it or not, once occasionally supported American interests.

How is it in America's interest to allow a vicious dictator to threaten his neighbors and allowing him to keep his gains after he breaks international law? I'd say it aligns America against the developed west.

I believe Trump will end the war, though he’ll likely face criticism regardless of how it’s achieved. I don’t expect you to agree, and that’s fine, it’s been a good chat nonetheless.

From your mouth to God's ears. I don't believe he will. But there is a way he might: that way being allowing Putin to have exactly what he wants so he stops the attacks on Ukraine. If Trump brokers the deal Ukraine will get nothing.

There's a little over 50% of the US population who are not too keen on that as a "deal"

I keep reading this dumb trope lacking any evidence. Share with us how Trump is "kind" to Putin?

Even in Trump 1.0 there were concerns with how close Trump was to Putin (even trusting Putin over his own intel services).

How is Trump close to Putin? I've never seen that connection other than the brainless claims of the FAKE media and leftist dumbasses.

There is no "peacekeeping" that is going to happen with regards to Ukraine as Trump seems mostly interested in ensuring that Putin keeps his ill-gotten gains and the USA gets to pillage Ukraine for minerals until we are done with them.

Another dumb, incoherent claim lacking in factual basis. So the only solution is total war and total victory by kicking one of the largest armies out of the Donbas?

That's what I would call stupid.

Honestly there's no way to see Trump as a peace-maker or even a disinterested party in these negotiations.

You misspelled "Biden" dumbass. But not blaming Putin for the impasse makes you look like the clueless dumbass in your posts.

Trump is the ONLY one trying to end the war brainless wonder. Biden just exacerbated it.

And the side he seemingly chooses most times is one that causes many of us concern.

Examples?

You mean like wanting peace in the Middle East?

Wanting peace in Ukraine?

Wanting to prevent men from competing in women's sports?

Closing the massive border influx Biden was allowing?

Deporting criminal aliens?

Trying to bring manufacturing back to middle class America?

Believing that unfair trade practices by other nations is unfair to American manufacturers?

Which cause do you think causes concerns?

Being upset is not bullying.

Threatening to beat people up is, you brainless moron. :palm:

Trying to lock up your political opponents is, you brainless moron.

Censuring Americans because you don't agree with their opinions is, you moron.

At least you agree that Trump is a big bully.

Where did I agree with that? No, I don't agree with your stupid unhinged claims dumbass.

So you missed all the times Trump has praised Putin. He once even said he prefered PUtin's leadership over American democrats.

How about the time he accepted Putin's word AGAINST US intel?

Another dumb, incoherent claim lacking in factual basis. So the only solution is total war and total victory by kicking one of the largest armies out of the Donbas?

No, but your failure with logic is noted.

Appeasement is not "ending the war". It didn't work in WWII and it wont' work with Putin.

History is very good to know.

Which cause do you think causes concerns?

I am also concerned by Trump supporters like you who seem to have not knowledge of the news.

This  Is what TDS looks like. Clueless clowns who claim nothing is changing really speak volumes of how demented the left has become.

Ahem, you demanded citations which I provided. They support my position and show yours to be uninformed.

And your only "defense" of your position is to call me names.

Wow. You must be so proud of yourself. You are like a master debater.

I'll reserve judgement on how informed Truth Detector is on the subject of your discussion, but I definitely agree that citations and other evidence is what we should be trying to do here, not give in to emotions by simply resorting to name calling and thus derailing the subject of a thread.

You lie. Your poor whataboutism and deflection show you agree.

That used to be called diplomacy dumbass. Of course, Biden not wanting to talk to Putin and calling to overthrow him worked well, right meanthead?

So you missed all the times Trump has praised Putin. He once even said he prefered PUtin's leadership over American democrats.

See above brainless wonder.

That wasn't praise you brainless twit; he was describing how Putin is running his country. Stark contrast to Biden who wasn't running much of anything.
"I've already said he is very much of a leader. The man has very strong control over his country."

Business Insider is a leftwing rag by the way. You won't be very informed reading their tripe.

How about the time he accepted Putin's word AGAINST US intel?

The Russia collusion Hoax has been debunked more times than I can count on my fingers and toes halfwit.

declined on Monday to endorse the US government’s assessment that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election, saying he doesn’t “see any reason why” Russia would be responsible.

You give new meaning to the term dumb and gullible.

No, but your failure with logic is noted.

 This is called projection. It is used by dumbasses who know they are losing the argument by lying, deflecting and making stupid shit up.

Appeasement is not "ending the war". It didn't work in WWII and it wont' work with Putin.

No one is appeasing anyone you brainless twit. It's called negotiating. Of course, you being a failed loser all your life wouldn't have a clue what leading and negotiating looks like.

History is very good to know.

It is. I wished you had some historic knowledge. But parroting the lame dumb talking points of the DNC and Fake media seem to be your ony skillset.

I am also concerned by Trump supporters like you who seem to have not knowledge of the news.

Ironic coming from someone who obviously is lacking in the intelligence arena and lies and deflects most of the time.

I can’t keep spoon-feeding you the obvious, but here we go. You’re the classic libtard backseat driver, clutching pearls and whining, “We don’t know what’s there for minerals!” No kidding, Sherlock. I figured we sent a squad to play rock collector between drone strikes to nail down the estimates, you absolute genius. And wow, how gracious of you to give Trump his entire term to fix everything (three months, lol). Truly, your benevolence knows no bounds. Then you hit me with your crystal-ball prediction that Trump won’t broker peace. Shocker, I thought you’d be his biggest cheerleader, dumbass.

I’m dying at the libtard fairy tale where Trump’s apparently the puppet master deciding Putin’s breakfast menu. In your smooth-brain world, it’s all on Trump, but Biden? Oh, he just funneled enough weapons and cash to keep the body count climbing without a single inch gained on the front line. Years to act, and he didn’t even bother picking up the phone to Putin, or maybe his wife was too busy running the show. Whoever was president, they sure weren’t trying. That’s all I’ve got for you, parrot. You’re just another squawking drone, indistinguishable from the rest of the flock.

That used to be called diplomacy dumbass. Of course, Biden not wanting to talk to Putin and calling to overthrow him worked well, right meanthead?

Ahhh, "diplomacy". From the world's best diplomat Donald J. Trump who has found a way to break with every single one of our closest allies and destroy our standing among the western Democracies.

I am so sorry that I had missed that. Diplomacy. Of course.

You give new meaning to the term dumb and gullible.

OK, so at least I know you have nothing of value to add to the conversation. By all means, keep on being you.
