Romney and his campaign keep floating rumors about who there VP pick will be.

They are lying!

I suspect they have chosen someone booring and maybe a good choice, a Portman or a Pawlente. But they want to get as much milage out of the possablity that they might pick a woman, black person or Hispanic person as possable so the campaign and the Radical Right media keep promoting the idea that it will be Rice or Rubio.

We have been over and over why I am sure it will not be Rubio.

Now lets talk about why it will not be Rice.

1) She would tie the Romney campaign to the Iraq War and the BUSH administration.
2) She is from Alabama, about the safest Republican state there is.
3) She is single.
4) She lives with a woman and has no children.

To me, Number 1 is the only valid reason for not choosing her. But numbers 2-4 are additional reasons she has a snowball chance in hell to be on the Republican ticket.

They've already decided on Pawlenty. That's my guess. Anyone other than insufferably-boring Pawlenty will upstage almost-as-boring Romney. The reason they keep trotting out 'possibilities' is to provide red meat to the press, since they have nothing else to offer and are trying to distract away from the pesky 'Bain' scandal and the inevitable fall-out that occurs every time Romney shows up somewhere and opens his mouth.

My bet is on Pawlente and they are just giving the preception that they are considering others for political gain.

Jarod, Romney is not particularly popular with the Southern GOP, which is why Rice being from Alabamer is actually a plus for her, and not a minus. It guarantees that he locks up the South. Same goes for Rubio.

That said, Pawlenty is recognized as the ideal candidate in terms of bringing political acumen and likeability to the ticket.

look it's not hard to understand bro.

You don't want your vp name leaked early because it just gives your opponent that much more time to attack them, and prepare against them.

Also floating other names out is a good way to test public reaction for your various choices.

This isn't rocket science.

Yes, but it also isn't 1+1; and thus poor Jarod is lost.

Well, wait a minute, Condi has said she absolutely does not want the job. So I'd say that's the number two reason. ( I agree with your number one) I don't know if she lives with a woman, but that's irrelevant.

No need to announce that. The fact that you wrote it already tells us that.

The Condi thing was a transparent effort to get people to stop talking about Bain. It didn't work. You won't hear shit about it again. Well, at least until some other inconvenient story dominates the news.

Also, too, what Darla said. And she's pro-choice. So, like, not gonna happen.

I thought she must be and I was thinking to myself that would be a bigger problem than her living arrangements...by far. But I wasn't sure I was going to google it. Usually a woman that accomplished is.

Maybe I'm saying this because I'm a male and out of touch but I find it pretty amazing that someone's stand on abortion would effect their consideration for being VP. Does any decision a VP makes during their term have anything to do with abortion?

Are you, like, totally unfamiliar with the religious right or something. Romney's relationship is tenuous enough as it is what with being a formerly pro-choice Mormon and all. Whether the VP has anything to do with abortion is totally irrelevant.

Yup. And because Matt Drudge is starving for attention.

WTF? As far as I'm concerned, he could pick Stewie Griffin for VP and I'll still vote for him. Is there anyone he could pick that would make YOU vote for him? Then shut the hell up. And while you're at it, STFU about Bain, offshore accounts, dogs on the roof of the car, morman underwear and the rest of the stupid shit you neo-comms come up with to avoid talking about obama's miserable record. Nobody on the right cares about that stuff, and you lefties are just showing desperation.

Nope. You're going to hear about that stuff right up until Election Day. Sorry.
