Primavera/cancelled by Damo 12/25

The usual reason is somebody doesn't want to be accountable for their previous posts, and cancel the member account and register a new account with a new screen name.

That's what happened when conservative posters belatedly became ashamed of their unadulterated worship of George Dumbya Bush.

Not one ever voted for Bush the day after he left office

It is remarkable that when we started posting on p dot com and FP, conservatives to almost a man were fierce in their devotion to George Dumbya, but years later you can barely find anyone who will cop to being a staunch Dumya supporter.

There were few of us here who did not support W and his war. They have all left, died or changed their names.

I came on the internets because the nation was being lied to war in 2002

I tried so hard to get people to see what the Bush team was doing

Internet censorship is conducted by the Royal Thai Police, the Communications Authority of Thailand, and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT).

(content that defames, insults, threatens, or is unflattering to the King, includes national security and some political issues)

Does this apply to the king's subjects only or to anybody who lives in Thailand? Seems awfully harsh and repressive. I was reading that neither the king nor the royal family has ever filed charges under this law.

It's so bizarre, I think of people like Henry VIII or Louis XIV using this, not 21st century countries.

In those days, conservative posters thought we were traitors if we dared to think invading Iraq was a dumb ass idea.

American Arrested for Insulting Thai King

“He violated the law by writing articles and posted them on a Web site,” Tharit Pengdit, the director of Thailand’s Department of Special Investigation, said in an interview. Mr. Tharit declined to disclose the contents of the posted material but said the case involved three offenses “which violate state security.”

They have in the past

Mr. Lerpong, 54, is being held without bail. Taken together, the charges against him could add up to a 22-year prison term.

Me also around 2002. Bush was deified by the rightwing then, and there were more than a few conservatives who thought I belonged in Gitmo for opposing the invasion of Iraq.

That's even worse than Putin.

I have a memory of Prima saying that someone here tried to get him in trouble with the Thai authorities.

Putin killed more people than the Pedo King of Thailand. :)

All monarchists are racists by the simple fact they believe some people are born superior than others.

I know Russians who openly write on their Facebook accounts that Putin is an asshole and a tyrant.

Either Russians are just a lot braver than British ex-pats in Thailand, or the Thai laws against defamation of the King are more harsh (35 year incarceration sentence?!) than any comparable laws in Russia.

The first guy was actually born in Thailand and is a naturalized US citizen. That is one weird law.

I never read Primavera speaking ill of the king so he should be okay.

Lots of brave people in Iran being executed as we write. Putin will eliminate anyone who is a threat.

He used to attack the king on twitter as Havana moon, then his real name disappeared, the one he joined JPP with, since he has been very quiet about the king, gee I wonder why
