Federal prosecutors have evidence Donald Trump showed classified documents to people, the Washington Post reported on Thursday, citing unnamed sources, as the investigation into his handling of national security materials and obstruction of justice approaches its conclusion.

The movement of boxes in and out of a storage room at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s Florida resort, has been a key focus for prosecutors because that was where Trump’s lawyer, Evan Corcoran, concentrated when he searched the property for classified documents.

Corcoran found roughly 40 classified documents in the storage room and told the justice department no further papers remained on the property. But that assertion was called into question when the FBI seized 101 classified documents months later, including from the storage room in question.

The central question for the special counsel, Jack Smith, has been whether Trump arranged for classified documents to be removed from the storage room before Corcoran searched there, to illegally retain them, even though he had been told he could not, as the Guardian first reported.

When the chief US judge Beryl Howell forced Corcoran to testify to a grand jury, she opined in a 86-page legal memo that she believed when Trump went through boxes to give materials back to the National Archives last year, it was “apparently a dress rehearsal” for the subpoena.

What fucking double standard? I've always posted Hillary got away with violating classified material handling laws. Now you want to let Trump get away with worse because Hillary never even got a wrist slap.

I really do believe you violated those regs yourself, Terry. Your lax attitude about nuclear secrets indicates that to be true. You don't see the difference in degree between the actions of Biden, Pence and Trump.

Yep. If you can't be consistent in persecuting people, you shouldn't be doing it. Think of how it will look to Trump supporters. You don't have to like or agree with them, but it will enrage them with the double standard it sets. If you truly want people to hate the government and decide it's time for a revolution, nothing does it faster than an obvious double standard of justice.

Quite frankly, the Democrats and Left dug this hole for themselves. They have long ignored the sins of their own. Now they are calling for pillorying Trump while excusing their own. It's in your face obvious. I don't like it either but you should be old enough to know politicians and those in Washington DC are often above the law. It's not right, but that's been happening most clearly since Nixon then again with Slick Willy. Two wrongs don't make a right. You're advocating letting Trump and others get away with crimes because the fucking Democrats and Republicans of the past got away with crimes.

What is disgusting is comparing them and pretending they are the same. No president ever did what Trump did. He stole a truckload of classified documents, lied to the FBI, and hid them when the FBI came for them. He copied some or all of them. That is the subject and instead of making a defense of Trump, you bring up something that is in no way the same. Rightys believe in diversion, not debate. But you may not understand what you are doing wrong.

Hillary was thoroughly investigated and no crimes were found. Biden and Pence misplaced documents. What Trump did wa different and much worse. None of then were stealing anything. Trump was.
