A Woodlawn neighborhood woman's son foiled her attempt Saturday to throw a Molotov cocktail at her sister's minivan, according to a police report and prosecutors.
Colette Rudolph, 34, tried to toss the gas-filled bottle at the car, which was parked in the 6200 block of South Langley Avenue and contained her 37-year-old sister and others, according to Assistant State's Attorney Anthony Lucafo and the police report.
Before the Molotov cocktail could reach the vehicle, though, Rudolph's 15-year-old son jumped in front of her and slapped it away.
During the incident, Rudolph told the car's passengers, "I got something for all you [expletive]," Lucafo said.
Rudolph, of the 6100 block of South Langley Avenue, has been charged with attempted arson and possession of an explosive or incendiary device.
Cook County Judge James Brown on Sunday ordered Rudolph ordered held in lieu of $25,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear in court again Friday.
