Public School Educators are Amazing

All the negative BS lately about public educators and public education clashed with reality today.

Tragically a young man passed away recently. The outpouring of support for his parents (both educators) and the students who lost their friend and classmate was remarkable.

It won't make the news, Fox would like deny it was possible.

Teachers and students talking, laughing, and crying together about this tragedy. The bond, respect, and love of the community, with the school as the nucleus, is what public education is and has always been.

Teachers are an easy profession to criticize. It should be more respected and honored.

I am hurting. I also know how privileged I am to be part of such an amazing community. I wish i could change what happened and take the pain away from the family and all those amazing young people i connected with today.

Hug your kids, and if you are lucky enough to be a public educator, hugs to you.

For decades politicians ran saying teachers were underpaid and did not get enough respect. That went back before Reagan. Then the Repubs decided the teacher's unions had to go, So they started to demonize and pick at them. The Repubs of course bought it all.

Is it Republicans fault that so many (rich) liberals in urban areas send their children to private school?

Our schools are a joke. All they teach is hate america and hate men and hate white people.
Did you, or can you, read the OP?

Your pathetic hatred of Americans is the real joke. I talked about a young person dying and the love of a school community.

Although predictable, you should really try to shut up at times.

That said, the pain of loss and the love of that community is not impacted by ignorance displayed by you.

You are what is wrong with this country, not public schools and the lies you repeat about them.

They cried at a a funeral.

Wow...that really makes up for their leftist indoctrination of our kids to hate America and/or being white...who can't even fucking read...much less master math or science, unless they are in private/charter schools.

Our schools are crumbling like everything else in america and it's all due to DIVERSITY. Our only hope is MAWA and that hope is slim since america is now 40% non-white third world sewer people who are only fit for crime and welfare and breed like rabbits.

Did you, or can you, read the OP?

I have no idea how many times TDK read the OP ... I did ... more than once ... and this question is very appropriate and relevant ...

did he suicide after a year of being isolated from his friends at school.......that is happening so much around here lately........

You answer seems a bit strange ...

No, not even close.

So if there is a source for your story, please post it ... because there is a whole lot of information missing ... and BTW ... Were the folks in this 'group hug' wearning masks ???

Do you have a link to this story? I'd like to read it...(And if you're including lucky retired public educators, thanks for the hugs....
Most of us are still very hard at work....;))
ETA: Taking one sentence out of your post really changes this important message...just saying...

I'd rather not share the story for privacy reasons. Given the lack of respect by some posters it doesn't make sense to be that transparent.

Yeah, the Fox comment was a preemptive strike against the pathetic who made this political without reading the OP. Probably distracted from the main idea. Hurt leads to anger.

But you made it political with the Fox remark:(.... That being said, I thank you for sharing it, and I will respect your desire to keep it private......Know that you're truly blessed to live in such a wonderful community, especially when tragedy occurs.....I'm lucky enough to have taught in one...and live in another....

It is the reds fault that they set up a system that underfunds public schools. When I was a kid the public schools competed evenly with private schools. They had sports, music, college prep, languages and other options. We had slow, average, and fast classes. Teachers were respected. They were dedicated professionals. That is what they wish for now.
using property taxes for school funding guarantees that wealthier areas will have more money. We are back to a separate and unequal educational system.
