There is nothing in this country resembling tyranny or oppression, even in a slight way. Stop listening to Glen Beck.

Our government is oppressive, it has eroded our rights to the point where it can declare an emergency and suspend all civil rights.

The democratic process has been subverted through corruption.

I would never argue that there is not oppression on the planet earth today.

However, it is not here in America. We have elections regularly, and the people here have more freedom & opportunity than basically anyone has experience throughout civilized history.

So stop whining...

If it was about government spending, and erosion of civil rights these elderly white people would have been protesting during the bush regime.

The 9/12er teabag movement is about race, fear, and a misguided and shrill paranoia amongst an under educated subset of elderly white americans who perceive that their Norman Rockwell mythology of a white, anglo-saxon america is slipping from their grasp.

But civil rights go to all individuals. We don't look at individuals strictly as members of a group and then implement racist policies against powerless individuals who are obviously NOT in control.

I'm a collectivist, a communalist, a socialist .. meaning, I think about the ALL .. including white people. Nothing more special about white men than there is about white women .. the BIGGEST beneficiary of affirmative action .. white women .. biggest beneficiaries of AA .. white women.
