It's a pretty big jump to say that he was saying all of the Republicans are racist. He's implying some of them are, and they're going to use racism against him. I would compare that to something like Ted Cruz using the "dEmS aRe ThE rEaL rAcIsTs!" argument.
Not a jump at all. Why would a campaigner point out that The Obama is black to non-racists? That would likely have the opposite effect.

I agree with you that some Democrats think some Republicans are racist. I'm saying Democrats don't think ALL Republicans are racist. Or if they do, they don't say it.
What I've shown is that The Obama campaigned making the claim that all Republicans are racist.
