Racism at Univ of Wisconsin

As a white person, why don't you LISTEN to those who are being oppressed instead of denying they are being oppressed.

nearly all of them don't care about listening to 'US'. They want to wallow in their oppression instead of joining with us against it. Case in point, when we of the open carry movement in TX wanted to walk through a certain district in Houston carrying our long guns, we INVITED those minorities being oppressed to join us. They warned us to stay out, we were not wanted. So fuck them. If an oppressed person wants to join us, we'll have open arms. until then, they can wallow in their own misery.

Capitalism has brought more people out of poverty than other economic system. If that is racist then gladly call me a racist. Look at California and the huge economic inequality we have. Completely belies the point you are arguing as the poor and monitories are getting hit hardest.

How can a liberal institution such as UW be as racist as this woman claims?

Capitalism has brought more people out of poverty than other economic system.

If this is so true, why are Blacks not equally as wealthy, and/or more well off than the average middle class white person?

Be specific.

You got damn right we don't listen to you racist fucks.

You've been speaking and never saying anything....EVER!

First and last warning, don't ever post to me again. You're kind isn't worth my keystrokes.

You cannot remove politics from racism.
Unfettered capitalism undoubtedly contributes to and creates the conditions of exploitation, racism, economic and social injustice, and worse.
There is not a single, solitary doubt about that. Its not even debatable. Surely you have even some rudimentary knowledge of the nexus of imperialism, colonialism, and unfettered capitalism.
That is why nobody actually practices pure, unfettered capitalism. It is an abhorrant system of exploitation and greed, driven by the soulless trappings of the profit motive.

For over a century, the liberal social welfare state has been the model. It obviously includes a modified version of regulated, restrained capitalism.

And within it, people of color (for the most part) have convinced society to accept some nominal level of equality under the law in our legal and political systems. And while individuals of all stripes can be bigots (and I have to remind myself that I benefit from white privilege), it is generally the American rightwing that systematically and deliberately seeks to tear down these modest institutional gains in legal and political equality.

Cypress, you're essentially describing the (western) European economic model. Look at where they are today. Look at the meager economic growth they have and how their unemployment is. They have an unsustainable model but that is what you are advocating.

Do you understand what the portion you bolded means? I'm not sure you do based on your follow up question.

Fear? What fear?.........dude your trippin. I don't fear anyone on this board.

This is your thread and you called me out. I'm responding to your post. Why do you want me to deflect from you and focus on them? It's your party and ideology that is destroying this country, not some liberal who thinks a woman is extreme because she called out what she feels is racism.

And lets be clear.....I have never said individual liberals can't be racist, but liberal policies and agendas are what moves this country away from the filthy racist ideology of the right.

So you equating this woman with racism as if she is the same as Jeff Sessions is just asinine.

Desh, how can you like this post when you claim liberals can't be racist?

I understand perfectly.

If capitalism is so great, why are Blacks and other minorities economically underrepresented in middle class America?

Capitalism has no guarantee of certain results. It's not a system set up that way. What it has done is brought the highest standard of living this planet has known and brought the largest number of people out of poverty.

You can for argue for a socialist model or the European model but you can't show better overall results anywhere than the U.S.

Shouldn't you be asking why other ethnic minorities have become far more successful? Koreans, Chinese, Indians especially, so why is that?

I'm not interested in arguing for a socialist model, that would deflect from your assertion that capitalism is the greatest thing since sliced bread. What I want you to explain is why Black Americans haven't benefited from the capitalism you support and defend.

And while your at it, what cause so much poverty in the richest country on the planet in the first place?

Be specific.

In the U.S. Asians achieve economically and educationally at a higher level than whites do. Now Asians as a whole are a large group and under the Asian umbrella not all groups achieve the same. But on the whole they do better than whites.

Is there another country where blacks have a higher standard of living than they do in the U.S.?

I'm talking about Blacks in the US.

You are questioning capitalism. Capitalism clearly has its faults but it's a more successful economic model than any other tried. So to answer the question about capitalism and blacks you need to first point out where on the globe blacks have done better economically. Otherwise you're arguing to change our system to one that has shown to have worse results elsewhere

LOL, as I thought. If your insinuating that American Blacks have it better than other Blacks around the world because of capitalism you are actually insulting the intelligence of my community while excusing the harm capitalism has done to the Black community IN AMERICA.

How can you support such a system that only works for the few while telling others to be glad they aren't eating their own shit like they do in other places around the world? It's the typical right wing racist mantra.....you might a well say, if it weren't for slavery Blacks would be worse off than they are today.

Should Blacks be thanking the white man as our savior because he instituted capitalism?

And to be clear, the white man has never allowed any other economic system to be established in this country other than capitalism. So your claims of it being the best is nothing but right wing lies and hogwash.

Whites in Anerica have a higher standard of living than other whites elsewhere. Am I insulting whites across the globe with that comment?

You are trying to put other issues in the U.S. all on capitalism when it's not the case. The U.S. veered towards socialism and the model you applauded in Cypress' post back in the '30's and '40's and ultimately we turned away from it.

What other economic "system" is out there waiting to be tried that we in the U.S. are preventing?

And TTQ64, you are asking about economically inequality, I have posted multiple articles here on housing and how restrictive zoning laws hurt the poor and minorities the most and you tell me I hate California and should move to Kentucky and that I shouldn't blame the people (largely liberals) who vote for and support those policies.

You get into this left-right mindset and are missing the forest for the trees.
