She told women that if they were in a bad relationship they HAD to make it better, the only reason to leave was because you were physically abused or he cheated on you. If there was no relationship there too bad, stick it out, for the good of the children.What gives a person with a Ph.D is Physiology the ability to give emotional and psychological advise. She had no formal training in psychology or psychiatry. She is a charlatan.

I haven't listened to her in years, but I think she was a bit tough on women wanting equality in the home.
But she did say "...a huge portion of the male homosexual populace is predatory on young boys". Which is inaccurate at best.
She also, apparently, had her staffers posing as guests with problems on her tv show. One staffer was one more than once with different problems.
I won't miss her.

I love R. Lee. FMJ is one of my all time favorite movies. The first time I watched it was with my Uncle who served in the Corp in Nam and went through basic at Paris Island. When Gomer finally shoots R. Lee my uncle got very upset and yelled "Why he just ruined a perfectly good DI!" LOL
Some of the biggest crooks in the world are lawyers, dispensing unwanted advice and believing because they have Attny at Law, Esquire, or some other such nonsense after their name they are qualified to do and say practically anything they like.
Talk about ethics violations! Yeah, lots of room to talk!

If only she didn't quit but got run over by a steam roller. Then justice would be served.
This commerical cracks me up every time I see it, but it's kind of like the Dr. Laura method of dispensing advice to her callers.
That woman is a bitch on wheels, but there is an element of truth in her words and belief that speaks to the demise of the family and the fall out we see with kids not getting the parental guidance and structure they once got with stay at home parents.
She drives me up a blue streak and her sanctimonious 'tude makes me bristle, but there is some truth in what she says.

I wouldn't call her a charlatan as she never claimed to be providing a counseling service. She's just a busy body advice dispenser along the lines of Dear Abby.
I wrote Dr. Laura a letter telling her about my engagement to a wonderful woman but that I had a problem. I have two siblings. My sister is a talk show host for a local radio station giving moral advice to people. My brother is serving 10 to 30 years in the State Penn for reckless homicide. He was caught attempting to rob a jewlery store and in the ensuing persuit he crashed and killed a mother and her child. I told her my problem was this. "How do I tell my fiance that my sister is a radio talk showhost?"
She ridiculed women for working when they had children, although she herself did it! I found her to be very hypocritical. Do what I say, not as I do type chick!
