You believe you possess an altruistic ideology, and anyone who opposes it, is just quite simply wrong. Let's pretend I have a small store that sells Code Pink hats and apparel, and Micheal Moore videos, and I am located in some trendy San Francisco hotspot, and the name of my business is F*CK YOU BUSH, or something.... I am going to get a particular clientele, who actively seek my products without me having to do very much, I sell out of merchandise all the time. Now, let's say I sell my videos for $10 and hats for $5... but all of a sudden, all my customers have this extra money in their pockets! The first week I noticed, was when I sold out of I HATE BUSH cup-holders on Tuesday! That never happens, hardly ever anymore. Before long, the customers are buying out my stock faster than I can keep it on the shelves, and so.... I raise my prices! But things still manage to sell out, so I raise them again... Finally, I raise my prices enough, so that my business has returned to its normal pace, and I can keep product on the shelves again. My new prices are $200 for a video and $100 for a hat...and it's GREAT... I expect record-setting profits next year, and hope to pay my CEO a billion dollar bonus! ;)

One of the greatest fallacies about the so called 'Cuban Revolution' has to do with healthcare.

Foreigners who visit Cuba, are fed the official line from Castro's propaganda machine: "All Cubans are now able to receive excellent healthcare, which is also free." But the truth is very different. Castro has built excellent health facilities for the use of foreigners, who pay with hard currency for those services.

Argentinean soccer star Maradona, for example, has traveled several times to Cuba to receive treatment to combat his drug addiction. But Cubans are not even allowed to visit those facilities. Cubans who require medical attention must go to other hospitals, that lack the most minimum requirements needed to take care of their patients.

In addition, most of these facilities are filthy and patients have to bring their own towels, bed sheets, pillows, or they would have to lay down on dirty bare mattresses stained with blood and other body fluids.

Lacking most modern tools such as computers, Web access and current textbooks and a connection with the real economy, Cuba's supposedly excellent education system would probably compare much less well to those of other Latin American countries in a survey that didn't depend on the government's own statistics. Cuba would probably turn out to suffer the same ills as the rest of the region: formal universal education up to junior high or high school, but terribly mediocre quality and a total disconnect from the country's needs.

I would love to see an experiment where all the liberals, socialists, communists, and anarchists all go to a determined part of the country, and we could split them off into their own country where they could be free to institute all sorts of regulation, top down control, high taxes on wealth, and huge welfare state commitments, and see how that works out for them....
