Rand Paul Doesn't Know How the Game Is Played

I miss peopel not freaking out when you do self deprecating humor.

people get all weird these days when you do it

honestly I don't believe being humble is a real thing. Everyone has to think they are great in quite a few ways. The only thing that is real are people really good at pretending they are humble. And the more great you are, the easier it is to pretend because you know everyone else will do the talking for you.

You don't understand what it means to be humble. One can think they are great in quite a few ways, yet remain humble. Being humble does not require low self esteem, in fact it requires more than being arrogant.

It simply means that you accept that you are human, you might be wrong, you therefore listen to others, and accept that what you are great in, is not because you are somehow better than everyone else, but that God lent you certain talents that you are required to use on behalf of society.

I often read letters to clients who are illiterate, I know I am better at reading than they are. I don't think, in any way, that makes me a better person.

a veiw inside your head.

You have very little experience with other humans if you think this is true

On one hand Desh makes an excellent point. I wouldn't really call the 'people' who occupy the wasteland known as Michigan humans.

He doesn't have to assume anything given that the whole point is to attack the State Department and Hillary. He just doesn't know that he not supposed to talk about it. At least not yet.

I thought you guys had an issue with an administration lying to the American people, but maybe it just depends on who the occupant of the White House is.

Rand is probably assuming that the final reports on Benghazi will attack the State Dept., so he is preemptively going after Hillary.
It's classic Machiavellian politics. He's going to demonize her to the base of people that all read despise her. I'm sure it will be affective with that demographic too........but it's not going to change anybodys mind about anything......and in light of their defense of the Iraq war....its probably the most pathetic partisan political ploy in my life time.

My mind is not yet made up about Paul, but I don't like his Texas, GWB, swagger.

I like that he appears to be a fly in the ointment, but is that just an act?

He is not humble, and I like humble in my presidents. He is also not a libertarian, not in any real sense, and I don't like that he pretends to be one.
Rand Paul is little more than a flash in the pan enjoying his 15 minutes of fame. Within the power structure of the Republican party he's a nothing and barely more than a nobody.

Do you know the ego it takes to think you are the most qualified person to lead 'the free world'? That is what you have to have to be President. It's not to say a President can't be humble but it's not exactly the place I would go looking for humbleness.
Meh....I don't know about that Wacko. I mean you do have a point about the ego it takes to be driven to climb the cursus honorum to become a US President but humility to a certain degree is vital to the position. Look at the three recent Presidents that were involved in Constitutional crises. Nixon, Reagan and Clinton. Neither Clinton or Nixon had the humilty to admit to error and were convinced their problems were the machinations of their enemies (Though Clintons transgression pale in significance compared to Nixons) and had they had the humility to admit to making mistakes then their situations probably would not have gone to the extremes that they did. Reagan on the other hand defied the laws of congress and precipitated a constitutional crises which he handled with an admirable level of humility, admiting to his own errors which probably want a long way towards preventing impeachment preceding against him.

The point being, yea you need a big ego to run for President but a certain level of humility is required to demonstrate the character of person needed to be the leader of the free world.

Spoken truly like a young man who has never been humbled. Your day will come! :)
