That was Eisenhower you idiot. Next largest peace time boom was under Clinton. Reagan's economic growth is leveraged against his drunken spending spree and the ruinous debt he left others to clean up.

Reagan version of supply side economics, which is the prevailing version, is as bankrupt an economic system as socialism if not worse.

I thought you were talking about the economic collapse of Japan, which happened in the 90's. They've been stagnant for quite a while.

And they have a population of like 100 million, which makes them the second most populated developed country in the world. It's not surprising that they have the second largest total economy (if you don't count the European union, which has come into first place), but there are many nations that exceed them per capita.
