Real men take care of their kids

Exactly, It depends. Having a parent home ISN'T always the ideal.

My wife is a director of a preschool so kids have been her focus and what she studied in school. I preface this by saying every child and family is unique. There's no one rule that works best for everyone. That being said, it is far better to have a parent at home than not. She has seen that over and over in how children at her school act and respond when the parents are around vs. not being there.

Now the world isn't perfect so having a parent stay at home with the kid isn't always going to happen but if the question is whether it's better or not I don't think there is a doubt in that answer.

well... there are a lot of bad parents out there!

I don't claim to know the ideal. It varies from family to family. I know most parents try to do their best, whether they are a single parent or in a relationship. What they don't need is a whole lot of people telling them - no matter their choice - that it was the wrong one.

I think as long as the parent or parents let their kids know they love them, the kids will turn out ok, whether the kids were raised by a stay-at-home parent(s), nanny, day care, grandparents, whatever. And we can help by not telling them they're doing it wrong...

There are parents, both mother and fathers who have admitted to me that staying home with their children was not for them.

I would rather a parent admit this and take the child to a good child are center or provider than be frustrated and take it out on the child. There are people who realize after having children that it was not for them.

They love their children, but deal with them better when they are older, much older.

It would be ideal

I have often said women will not be free until men are allowed to stay home with the kids when its what they want and is best for the family.

Men have as much right to do this as women do.

I LOVED being a stay at home mom.

I as a woman was looked down on for it by both men and women.

My wife is a stay at home mother, Kerry lost her vote when his wife mistakenly assumed Laura Bush was a stay at home mother and said she never had a "real job"...

Man that steamed her up huge. Kerry could have turned her car to gold and still not got her vote.

. I do not believe that's always the case.... There are, for example... Bad parents.

I like that bit because I'm a stay at home dad with triplets. One has Cerebral Palsy from being a preemie. She is hated by the Libertarian party because she enslaves them since they had to pay for her medical walker and as we all know, they didn't directly decide to.

They are 3 and a half now and are thriving. They are smarter than anyone their age that we know and passed the K skill levels when only 2 years old. They even knew advanced sign language at 1.5 years old.

But the funny thing is that after all day trying to get them to use critical thinking in order to not hurt themselves.........I just get on this forum and see adults that use LESS critical thinking for the same purpose. I can barely mentally handle it when an adult uses less critical thinking than my 3 year olds.

On a side note I've won Citizen of the year in my City, I've been a toughmudder and I've been ranked top ten in my state for my personal sport.

And let me tell you..........."You got your hands full" is the ONLY thing I hear. I find it hard to even have a false reaction now days. I just wanna say..."duh"

And as far as the women do better stigma, it's bs.

The kid does as well with either parent if that parent engages with them. The FACT is that a lot of men think that raising a child is a womans job......which is ignorant. It's BOTH parents job.

But I will say that I'm sick of women looking at me like I'm stupid when I have input on good parenting..

my children regarded me as both father and mother despite my being married. my wife and i both worked. when i left my wife, i did my best to support my children and eventually had both of them living with me at one time or another. were it not for the fact that my exwife threatened to wage mutual assured destruction i would have had both of our children living with me when we separated. it was not until they were old enough to tell her that they wanted to live with me and threatened her back that they came to live with me.

this is not something that i recommend for a marriage.

being a single working parent sucks.

{cough cough} bs bs bs {cough cough}

Yes I know that it is a crime bordering on heresy in the US to suggest that there is even a scintilla of difference between men and women. However I can only think of two genuine women geniuses, Marie Curie and Ada Lovelace. I guess that maybe Grace Hopper, Radia Perlman and Hedy Lamarr could be added to the near genius list

Yep, every parent thinks they have the smartest kids they know.

I am amazed at people wanting a parade for doing what they are SUPPOSED to do.

BTW why couldn't you pay for your own walker? They aren't that expensiive. Maybe the same cost as a few months Internet service which you gladly pay out of your own pocket. Yet for your precious child you feel the need to take from others. Odd.

Maybe they look at you like you are stupid because you are....well, stupid. Did you ever think of that? Or like your precious progeny, are you the smartest guy you know?

Yes being a single parent sucks for children. That is why those of us who really care about the welfare of ALL children advocate stable homes with JUST a mother and father and not these abnormal relationships that have become the liberal fad du jour and are toxic to children and society

I worked at home, so, I was able to be there for my children, but also had a business, best of both worlds.

My "job" was being the property management for our rental.

every couple of years I would go live at the rental house until it was ready to rent and then rent it out.

Then my "job" consisted of dealing with the renters mostly by cashing the checks.

Hey its not my fault if my job was easy as hell.

you rent it out right and the job is done for quite some time
