Recommend Political Books You Think Everybody Should Read Here

Without a doubt, the book Lying by Sam Harris. Short book and an easy read, but it will change your life.

Currently reading "The Washington War" by James Lacey, published in 2019. Fascinating and beautifully written story of the political and personal maneuverings in FDR's orbit during the war, particularly the early years.

Check out "Lincoln On The Verge" by Ted Widmer. Simon & Schuster, 2020. Great story of Lincoln's adventure packed 13 day train journey from Springfield to Washington following his 1860 election.

I am certain someone already said it but I'll say it anyway.

Mein Kampf

What's interesting about Hitler's book is everybody assumes racism is the central thesis, but this isn't true at all. Racism is an adjunct to Hitler wanting what he sees as an idyllic world of likeminded people living in a backwards 19th Century society. It's all sort of a combo of nerd-dork meets insane D&D player...

Integrity Counts by Brad Raffensperger. Life-long Republican and Trump supporter is elected as Georgia's Secretary of State. An engineer concerned about the integrity of his states election system oversees the purchase and implementation of new voting machines with verifiable paper ballots to allow physical ballot auditing and a hand recount.

When accusations were made about election fraud in Georgia Raffensperger conducts recounts to verify the count and shows how the accusations were based on ignorance of the voting process and outright lies with no supporting evidence. He and his staff worked hard to prove the election results were accurate and disinformation was produced to make the public doubt the results.

'The Defining Moment" by Jonathan Alter. Not a new book, it came out in 2006. The defined "moment" is FDR's famous first hundred days as he began his first term in 1933 with the world banking system closing down. No one understood it at the time but the Depression coincidentally reached its peak then. Just the brilliant 8-page prologue is more than worth the price of the book.

Yeah, I'm not so sure Hitler's progressive national socialism was solely about race since the Jews are not considered to be a race. But Hitler did see the Jews of having many if not all the higher levels of industrial acumen going for them, and that he just couldn't accept that. I actually had a boss in my early years who grew up in Hitler's 'YOUTH CORP' who actually had the first name of Adolf, and was such a jerk that some of my white friends beat him to pulp where we never saw him again. Hitler's youth corp had very little chance to go out on their own and make a living in a free society in early 20th century Germany.

The key concept of Mein Kampf is that of volksmeingeschaft. This word is a variation on the term, frontmeingeschaft. This is Hitler's central thesis to what he wants.

Frontmeingeschaft has no direct translation into English. The closest idea is "band of brothers," from military / veteran usage. That is, that a group has a shared set of experiences and lifestyle that bonds them closely together. Hitler found this in his military experience in WW 1 and extrapolated it to argue it should be applied to all of Germany, Germany's society, and culture. That's where the term volksmeingeschaft comes in.

To accomplish this, Hitler argued that all "foreign" / non-German whatever had to be eliminated from German society. You can see this in the Nazi platform calling for only newspapers to be in German and any in foreign language were to be banned or severely restricted. Cultures, like the Jews or gypsies were to be removed from German culture as they were 'foreign' in nature. Everybody would grow up going in Hitler Youth to a public school where they would always be getting a shared experience that was common across German culture.

Of course, this got shifted to simple eradication of undesirable groups as they proved difficult to deport or otherwise get out of Germany. The Wannsee Conference in 1942 heightened this to mass extermination as a means of dealing with what the Nazis saw as a pressing problem.

You are aware that Thomas E. Woods is a radical libertarian who finds the Civil War Confederacy as his model Government?

Are you recommending books or trying to sell your point of view?
classic poisoning the well

I have read the book in question. It is really designed as a launch point for those that have been completely screwed with public education. people such as yourself that blame capitalism for all the smoky back room deals done by politicians

It wasn't fascism that was the danger in those terms nearly so much as the fascists introducing a program to create volksmeingeschaft within the entirety of the German population. Any radical Leftist government could do that.

The Kingdom of Speech by Tom Wolfe - not a political book, specifically, but it encompasses politics along with everything else in our sociological world. Written in Wolfe's breezy style, it takes on Darwin and Norm Chomsky in arguing language did not evolve in its own process of natural selection but is a human creation.

Amazing how stupid you are.

'THE DEMOCRAT PARTY HATES AMERICA' by Mark Levin N.Y. Times #1 Bestseller

Mark explains how Marxist ideology has invaded our society and culture. Levin proves that since it's
establishment, the Democrat Party has set out to rewrite history and destroy the foundation of freedom
in America. More than apolitical party, it is the entity through which Marxism has installed its philosophy
and its new revolution.
Mark explains why these Democrat Marxists don't care about America's values, safety, families, GOD etc.
The answer is that all they care about is....POWER.

Another great book by Mark is titled 'American Marxism'
